Hey y’all, so here it is... My man Goldie joined me for a live podcast in London last week and when you’ve had a career as long and varied as this guy you’ve got stories for days…
G just dropped his brand new album The Journey Man – which is amazing by the way, if you haven’t already you need to get that one in your collection.
And in this pod he goes right back to the start, talking about when he was doing graffiti in Wolverhampton, his first trip to New York and his first experience painting a train…
We talk about parties we went to at Nellee Hooper’s house and Goldie takes us right through his musical career, including the catharsis he experienced creating Mother, upto the present day, which he considers to be his best work yet.
Now he’s an avid hot yoga practitioner and lives in an idyllic home he built with his wife in Thailand.
He even does a demonstration of the posture he finds most difficult – Savasana – or dead man’s pose he told me it’s called! That was great piece of podcasting right there… Goldie just laying on the floor in front of a live audience!
Goldie fans out there won’t need me to tell you he’s a true showman – this episode does not fail to deliver, and it comes in two parts, so you have even more to look forward later this week.
So yo, as always, if you enjoy this episode don’t forget to rate, review and subscribe on Acast or iTunes and tell your friends, spread the love, it’s the Brooklyn way…
So here it is, drum n bass legend, Goldie, in conversation, live on Huey: Off The Record...
