Exploration into Cybersecurity and Risk Management: Understanding Zero Trust and IT Supply Chain Intricacies Aug 17, 2023
    Show notes

HSDF would love to hear from you!

Ready for an exploration into the heart of cybersecurity and risk management? Join us as we embark on a stimulating conversation with Ken Bible, Mike Epley, and Rob Palmer. We tackle the industry's collaboration with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) as we discuss the successes, the complexities, and the necessary shifts towards an architectural focus on the application layer. Get ready to understand the significance of tagging data, securing data both at rest and at the edge, and how the industry is paving the way towards a Zero Trust model.
As we progress, we question the roots of trust within our enterprises. Getting into the nitty gritty of our dependance on systems like DNS and PKI, we question how this trust can shape a successful zero trust architecture. We navigate the challenging waters of implementing such an architecture in edge environments while emphasizing the importance of organizational controls and cyber hygiene. We conclude with a deep dive into the intricacies of IT supply chains, discussing the challenges and risks, and how as an open-source company, we can provide protection for our downstream users. Tune in for a riveting conversation that will leave you with a fresh perspective on cybersecurity and those who are shaping its future.
