Investment manager Franklin Templeton and Gallup partnered to research the behavioral response around COVID-19, and the results reveal stunning, pervasive misunderstandings. The average American now believes that COVID deaths skew younger than CDC data indicates and currently overestimates the risk of death to those age 24 and under by a factor of 50. We talk with Dr. Jason West about this misinformation.
Biden and Harris held the first joint virtual campaign event on Thursday. However, as reporters who were present at the event attempted to ask questions, they were shooed away by campaign staffers. Even New York Times reporter Jonathan Martin pointed out that “this is not a show of confidence...” He adds, “the seriousness of the topic and the times -- to say nothing of Biden's own criticism of Trump’s contempt for a free press -- makes accountability all the more essential." As House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy points out, “Joe Biden doesn’t want to take the questions because when you ask him tough questions, he was opposed to stopping those flights from China that saved thousands of lives in America. This is a really difficult problem for Joe Biden, especially if you ask him any questions or if he came out of the basement." Calling in is republican political strategist Vlad Davidiuk, he shares his thoughts on Biden’s tight lipped approach.
