Using Choose Your Own Adventure Games Across Your Homeschool
Choose your own adventure games aren’t just for screen time—they’re genuine teaching tools. Whether you play them online or reach for a board game or card deck, these interactive stories let kids make decisions that shape the outcome, which builds critical thinking and problem-solving in a way worksheets rarely do. They also make wonderful independent work.
Best of all, they stretch across every subject. You’ll find choose-your-own-adventure style games for social studies, math, language arts, and science topics like the rock cycle. Younger students can explore early history or the United States, while older kids dig into world history or a closer study of Native American cultures. Because most online versions run right in Chrome, Firefox, or Edge—and tools like Google Slides let kids build their own—they’re easy to weave into any homeschool day, from first graders through high schoolers.
