Have you ever wondered how airplanes got so big? We're traveling all the way back to the 1940s to meet Howard Hughes and his "Spruce Goose"—an enormous seaplane made entirely out of wood that only flew one single time! Then, we'll learn about the funny-looking Airbus Beluga that literally swallows other airplane parts to carry them around! You'll also discover the famous Boeing 747 jumbo jet that changed how we travel on vacations forever, and the wild Stratolaunch that looks like two planes glued side-by-side! But the biggest star of our show is the Antonov An-225 Mriya! Built in the 1980s, this giant had a wingspan longer than a whole football pitch and was designed to carry a real-life space shuttle on its back! There was only one ever made in the entire world.     Welcome back to History's Not Boring by Kidopoly.com with your hosts Mira and Finn! Today, we're traveling back in time to explore two of the greatest civilizations in the Americas: the Maya and the Aztecs! Did you know they are often mixed up, even though they lived hundreds of years apart?

    First, we'll trek deep into the jungles of ancient Mexico and Guatemala to find the Maya! Over 2,000 years ago, they built massive stone cities with towering pyramid temples, created an amazing calendar, and invented one of the first writing systems! But then, around 900 AD, their cities were mysteriously abandoned to the rainforest! What happened?!

    Next, we'll fast forward to 1325 to meet the Aztecs! Instead of a jungle, they built their unbelievable floating capital city, Tenochtitlan, right in the middle of a giant lake! Their mighty empire ruled millions of people until Spanish conquistador Hernan Cortes arrived in 1519.

    What was the Great Depression? Jun 03, 2026

    Welcome to History's Not Boring by Kidopoly.com with Mira and Finn! Have you ever wondered what happened when the whole world ran out of money? In 1929, an event called Black Tuesday changed everything! The stock market crashed, and in just a few hours, billionaires lost everything. Over the next four years, thousands of banks closed, and one in four people couldn't find a job!

    But that wasn't all! In the Midwest, a terrible drought turned rich farmland into the scary Dust Bowl. Giant, black walls of dirt actually blotted out the sun! Families had to pack everything they owned onto their cars and drive out West just to find work. It was a really tough time for the whole world.

    But don't worry, hope was on the way! A new president named Franklin D. Roosevelt was elected with a big promise called the New Deal. He helped put millions of people back to work building the roads, bridges, and giant dams we still use today! Join Mira and Finn as we explore the hardest decade of the 20th century, and learn how countries figured out how to protect everyday people from ever falling that far again!

    Get ready to dance to the coolest sound in history! Welcome to History's Not Boring by Kidopoly.com with your hosts Mira and Finn! Have you ever wondered what building cars on an assembly line has to do with making hit music? In 1959, a young songwriter from Detroit named Berry Gordy borrowed 800 dollars from his family to start a brand-new record label in a tiny house he called "Hitsville USA." And boy, did it make hits! Berry used the idea of a car assembly line to build music superstars. He hired a secret-weapon band called the Funk Brothers and even set up a school to teach singers exactly how to walk, talk, and perform on stage! Within a few short years, Motown was launching the biggest stars the world had ever seen, like Stevie Wonder, Diana Ross, and a family of five brothers called the Jackson 5, led by a tiny boy with a giant voice named Michael Jackson! Motown became the true sound of young America and the very first Black-owned music empire during the civil rights movement. Put on your dancing shoes and let's discover the magic of Motown!


    How did the Chilean miners escape? Jun 01, 2026

    Welcome to History's Not Boring by Kidopoly.com! I'm Mira! And I'm Finn! Have you ever wondered what it's like to be trapped deep underground? Deep in Chile's Atacama Desert, an unbelievable true survival story took place in 2010. When the San Jose copper mine suddenly collapsed, 33 miners were trapped 700 meters under the ground! That is twice as deep as the tallest building in the world is tall! For 17 long days, nobody on the surface even knew if they were alive. Suddenly, a tiny drill broke through the rock and came back up with a note: 'Estamos bien en el refugio los 33' (We are well in the shelter, the 33 of us). The whole world watched in amazement as engineers worked day and night to build a special escape capsule called the Phoenix. Could they pull everyone up safely? After 69 days in the dark, every single miner was lifted to the surface alive! Join Mira and Finn as they uncover this incredible story of teamwork, brilliant engineering, and never giving up!


    What was the Battle of New Orleans? May 31, 2026

    Imagine fighting a massive battle... when the war is already over?! That's exactly what happened at the Battle of New Orleans! In January 1815, a peace treaty to end the War of 1812 had just been signed far away in Europe. But back then, there were no phones, text messages, or internet. It took weeks for the news to cross the ocean by ship! Meanwhile, a huge British army of 8,000 veteran soldiers was marching to capture the city of New Orleans. Who was there to stop them? General Andrew Jackson and a wild, ragtag crew of just 4,500 defenders! This amazing underdog team included frontier militiamen, free Black soldiers, brave Choctaw warriors, and even a band of real-life pirates led by Jean Lafitte! In an incredible showdown that lasted only 30 minutes, this small but mighty team totally defeated the British attack! The epic victory made Jackson a national hero, earned the pirates a special pardon, and saved the city. Join Mira and Finn as they dive into the biggest battle that technically shouldn't have happened!


    What is the Declaration of Independence? May 30, 2026

    Welcome back to History's Not Boring! I'm Mira, and I'm Finn! Get ready to travel back to the year 1776 in North America. The 13 American colonies are totally fed up with being bossed around by Britain and paying crazy taxes without getting a say! So, what do they do? They decide to start a brand new country! Enter a 33-year-old named Thomas Jefferson. He locks himself in a room and writes some of the most famous words in history: "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal." Wow! On July 4th, the Continental Congress approves this magical document, now known as the Declaration of Independence! But it wasn't just a piece of paper—it was super dangerous! The 56 brave men who signed their names knew they could be in huge trouble, even hanged for treason, if they got caught by the king! And wait until you hear about John Hancock, who wrote his name so incredibly big that the king could read it without his glasses! Join us as we explore the exciting, daring document that sparked a revolution and officially birthed the United States of America!


    Who was Edgar Allan Poe? May 29, 2026

    Welcome back to History's Not Boring! Today, Mira and Finn are investigating the master of mysteries himself: Edgar Allan Poe! Did you know that without him, we wouldn't have Sherlock Holmes, Goosebumps, or even Stranger Things?! Born in Boston in 1809, Edgar had a really tough start. He lost his parents before he was three and was raised by a wealthy Virginia family who never quite showed him the love he needed. But Edgar used his incredible imagination to write the world's very first modern detective story, 46 years before Sherlock Holmes was even created! He basically invented the spooky-mystery genre with thrilling tales like The Tell-Tale Heart and his super famous poem, The Raven. Even though his stories were amazing, Edgar lived a broke life because back then, the country didn't really pay writers for their work! To make things even spookier, he died under completely mysterious circumstances in Baltimore at age 40—a real-life mystery that nobody has ever solved!
