Ep 360: The Beliefs Hiding Beneath "I Just Want to Be Happy" with Dr. David Pendergrass Sep 26, 2026
    Show notes

"I just want to be happy."

    "My truth is my truth."

"No one can tell me what to do with my body."

These statements may sound like personal convictions, but each one reflects deeper beliefs about truth, morality, identity, autonomy, and human value.

In this episode, Dr. David Pendergrass and I dig beneath the surface of the cultural issues Christians are navigating every day. We'll explore how hidden assumptions can shape the way we think about marriage, divorce, parenting, abortion, sexuality, and other difficult issues, even when we believe we're thinking biblically.

If we want a biblical worldview, we have to learn to recognize not only what we believe, but why we believe it.

Ep 359: When Evil Has No Shame: A Good God in a Dark World Sep 20, 2026
    Show notes

Evil isn't just something we read about in the news. Sometimes, we see it displayed without shame, and we're left wondering how people can be so cruel. But what is evil, where does it come from, and how do we reconcile its existence with a good and sovereign God?

In this episode of Her Faith Inspires, we're examining the problem of evil through the lens of Scripture. We'll unpack the argument that God must have created evil, explore the difference between moral evil and the corruption of God's good design, and consider what evil reveals about the human heart.

But understanding evil is only part of the conversation. How should Christians respond when we're confronted with hatred, cruelty, and wickedness? Does God call us to ignore it, fear it, or fight back?

From the goodness of God's creation to Paul's command in Romans 12 to overcome evil with good, we're looking at what Scripture teaches us about living faithfully in a world marked by darkness. Evil is real, but it doesn't get the final word. And it doesn't get to dictate how we respond.

Ep 358: What Are You Looking For? Lessons from the Sycamore Tree with Christine Norvell Sep 12, 2026
    Show notes

What can a sycamore tree teach us about God?

In this episode, I'm talking with Christine Norvell about her book on the biblical sycamore tree and the story of Zacchaeus. We'll look beyond the familiar Sunday school story and examine what Scripture actually reveals about Zacchaeus, his encounter with Jesus, and the significance of the tree he climbed.

Christine helps us slow down and look more carefully at a passage we may think we already know. What does this story teach us about Jesus? What does it reveal about Zacchaeus? And what can we learn when we stop making ourselves the center of the story and look for what Scripture teaches us about God?

If you've ever read the story of Zacchaeus and thought you knew the whole story, this conversation may give you a reason to look again.

Ep 357: What Lindsay Clancy and TikTok Moms Reveal About the Mentorship Crisis Sep 05, 2026
    Show notes

What do Lindsay Clancy, TikTok moms, feminism, and the church's struggle to disciple women have in common? They reveal a growing crisis of mentorship.

In this episode, we'll look at what today's culture is revealing about the need for older, godly women to mentor and disciple the next generation. We'll explore the difference between a role model and a mentor, what Titus 2 teaches us about women discipling women, and why mentorship is essential to the health and growth of the church.

I'll also share what mentorship looks like in my own church and give you a practical step-by-step plan for starting a mentorship program in your church.

Ep 356: Spiritual Warfare: Recognizing the Enemy's Deceptive Strategies with Heather Otis-Tayloe Aug 29, 2026
    Show notes

Spiritual warfare is real—but so is spiritual deception. How do we recognize the enemy's strategies without becoming distracted by fear, speculation, or sensationalism?

In this conversation, author Heather Otis-Tayloe joins me to discuss spiritual warfare, the deceptive tactics of the enemy, and why biblical discernment is essential for every Christian. We'll talk about how Satan works to deceive, how Christians can recognize spiritual counterfeits, and why knowing Scripture is one of our greatest defenses against deception.

This conversation will challenge you to take spiritual warfare seriously while keeping your focus where it belongs: on the truth of God's Word and the victory we have in Christ.

Ep 355: Is the Culture Losing its Grip on Reality? with Phoenix Hayes Aug 22, 2026
    Show notes

What happens when we stop asking whether something is true and start deciding truth for ourselves?

We live in a culture where reality is increasingly treated as something we can define, redefine, or even create. But can we actually create our own reality? And what happens when our feelings, desires, or personal experiences become the standard for determining what is true?

In this episode, I'm talking with Phoenix Hayes, co-author with Dr. Frank Turek of The War on Reality. We discuss the growing confusion surrounding truth, identity, morality, and human nature—and why Christians need a solid foundation for evaluating the ideas shaping our culture.

We talk about why truth matters, how competing worldviews influence the way we see reality, and why the question of whether God exists ultimately changes everything.

Struggle to have conversations with people who believe you can determine what's true for yourself? Listen to this episode.

Ep 354: Wired That Way: Understanding How God Made You Aug 16, 2026
    Show notes

Are you a people person, a planner, a problem-solver, or someone who thrives on encouragement and connection? In this episode, I'm joined by Marita Littauer to talk about Wired That Way, a personality assessment designed to help us understand how God has uniquely wired us—and how those differences affect the way we communicate, relate to others, and respond to the world around us.

We'll talk about the strengths and challenges that come with different personality types, how understanding ourselves can improve our relationships, and why knowing how God has wired us should never become an excuse for our behavior. Instead, it can help us better understand ourselves and love and serve others well.

Ep 353: 7 Reasons You Don't Think Well—and How to Fix It Aug 08, 2026
    Show notes

What does it mean to have an "empty self," and could these traits be affecting the way you think, live, and grow as a Christian? In this episode, I unpack J.P. Moreland's seven traits of the empty self, including individualism, instant gratification, narcissism, passivity, being driven by feelings and experiences, external identity, and busyness.

We'll look at how these traits can weaken our ability to think deeply, study Scripture, and discern truth—and practical steps we can take to develop a stronger Christian mind and love the Lord with all our minds.

Ep 352: From Ritual Magic to Redemption: Jac Marino's Testimony with Jac Marino Chen Aug 01, 2026
    Show notes

The New Age movement is more popular than ever. Practices like tarot cards, crystals, manifestation, astrology, energy healing, and spirit guides are often presented as harmless tools for personal growth. But what does the Bible say?

In this episode, I sit down with Jac Marino Chen, author of Ensnared: Overcoming the Darkness of the New Age and Occult with the Light of God's Truth, to hear her powerful testimony of how Jesus rescued her from a life immersed in the occult, ritual magick, addiction, and spiritual deception.

Jac's explanation of the gospel was so powerful it brought tears to my eyes. I know you'll walk away from this conversation encouraged and reminded that while the occult is real and spiritually dangerous, it is no match for the saving power of Jesus Christ. No one is beyond His reach. God is still breaking through the darkness, setting captives free, and transforming lives by His grace.

Ep 351: Biblical Literacy Is Dying: Why Christians Keep Falling for False Teachers Jul 25, 2026
    Show notes

Biblical literacy is in decline—and the consequences are showing.

In this episode, I unpack alarming statistics about Bible reading in America and explain why so many Christians struggle to recognize false teaching. We examine the growing influence of Kathryn Krick and discuss how emotional experiences can never replace sound biblical doctrine.

I also answer a listener's question about the Scofield Study Bible, compare popular Bible translations by reading level, and share practical advice for choosing a translation you'll actually read and understand.

This episode will challenge you to move beyond devotionals and secondary sources and become a student of God's Word. The goal isn't simply to read the Bible more—it's to know God more deeply, discern truth from error, and become a faithful disciple who can help others do the same.
