In this episode, we talk about her and Lizzy Hershberger's new book, Behind Blue Curtains. It is a memoir about Lizzy's experience leaving the Amish and coming forward about the abuse she experienced as a young child there. Her story is, sadly, very common among these communities. That's why it is so important they are sharing her story. I am so thankful for Molly's time and these women's bravery.

He joined me to talk about the Von Erich family. They were a wrestling family in the 80s in Texas and all but one have died an extremely tragic death. Y'all know I know nothing about sports, but I found this story so crazy interesting. It's an incredibly heartbreaking example of how damaging unaddressed mental illness can be.

Episode 95: The Tulsa Race Massacre Jun 16, 2021

This week we're taking a break from our normal episodes to talk about something extremely important. The Tulsa Race Massacre is one of the worst nights in American history. The residents of Greenwood were thriving and successful and that was brutally taken away from them. This story is almost never taught in schools, even in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
This weekend is also Juneteenth. In between recording this and today, the Senate unanimously voted to make Juneteenth a national holiday. This is great but would be a lot sweeter if it wasn’t so preformative. We still have a lot more work to do. I'm including resources below for how we can continue to learn and help our black loved ones.
