Holy Week Live: Tuesday: Jesus Confronts Religion

Tuesday of Holy Week is one of the most intense and overlooked days in the life of Jesus.

After entering Jerusalem and cleansing the temple, Jesus returns to teach… and what follows is a direct confrontation with the religious leaders in Matthew 21–23.

This isn’t quiet teaching. This is bold, public truth.

The leaders question His authority. Jesus responds with parables that reveal what’s really happening beneath the surface.

And then He speaks directly to the systems and patterns that were keeping people from truly encountering God.

In this episode, we walk through:

What was happening in the temple on Tuesday of Holy Week
Why the religious leaders felt threatened by Jesus
The meaning behind the parables Jesus shared
What Jesus was exposing through His teaching
Why truth can feel uncomfortable… and why that doesn’t make it wrong

This day shows us something important about the heart of Jesus.

He is loving… but He is not passive.

And sometimes the most loving thing He does… is confront what’s false so something real can take its place.

If you’ve ever felt challenged by something in Scripture… or sensed God correcting something in your life… this episode will help you understand why.

Because truth isn’t meant to push you away from God…

it’s meant to bring you closer to Him.

David’s words remind us of the hope we have despite our circumstances. This episode is a reminder that you can trust God’s unfailing love.

Today’s Key Verse:

I trust in God’s unfailing love for ever and ever. Psalm 52:8b

Holy Week Live: Monday: What People Get Wrong About Palm Sunday (And Why It Matters) Mar 30, 2026

Show notes

Palm Sunday is one of the most recognized moments in the Bible… but it’s also one of the most misunderstood.

In this episode, we walk through what was actually happening when Jesus entered Jerusalem in Matthew 21. The crowd was shouting “Hosanna,” expecting immediate rescue. They recognized Jesus as King… but they misunderstood the kind of King He came to be.

And what Jesus does next might surprise you.

In Mark 11, He curses a fig tree and clears the temple. These weren’t random moments. They were intentional, prophetic actions revealing something deeper about spiritual fruit, outward appearance, and what God is really after.

This episode helps you understand:

What the crowd expected on Palm Sunday… and why it mattered
The meaning behind the fig tree and why Jesus responded the way He did
How the temple connects to the fig tree
Why your life can feel unfinished even when God is working

If you’ve ever felt like God has moved… but things still don’t look the way you expected, this episode will help you make sense of that tension.

Because just because something isn’t finished… doesn’t mean God isn’t working.

This is Day 1 of walking through Holy Week together.

Matthew 21:1–11
Mark 11:12–19
Zechariah 9:9

Psalms for the Soul: Psalm 51: Daily Bible Study, Daily Devotional, Hearing Jesus

We have all experienced times in our lives when we have messed up. Sin separates us from God, and there are consequences for our sins. But, we have a God who longs to restore us and create in us a new, clean heart. Today we look at how David came to God in His brokenness, and we can see how God longs for us to come to Him with our sin.

Today’s Key Verse:

Create in me a new heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Psalm 51:10

Psalms for the Soul: Psalm 50: Daily Bible Study, Daily Devotional, Hearing Jesus

How Does God Feel About Hypocrites? Sometimes it can be easy to settle into a place of routine, even in our spiritual lives. The problems come when we allow those routines to take the place of relationship. Today we look at Psalm 50 and the dangers that can come when we stop pursuing a relationship with God.

Today’s Key Verse:

The Might One, God, the Lord, speaks and summons the earth from the rising of the sun to the place where it sets. Psalm 50:1

Psalms for the Soul: Psalm 49: Daily Bible Study, Daily Devotional, Hearing Jesus

Platform building and wealth are two things that many people seem to be consumed with. Today we look at why that is and how it can lead us to a dangerous place. Instead, God calls us to pursue the things that will make a kingdom impact.

Today’s Key Verse:

But God will redeem my life from the grave; He will surely take me to Himself. Psalm 49:15
