The Bengals pulled off a trade? Cincinnati moved former pro-bowl defensive lineman Carlos Dunlap to Seattle in exchange for a late-round pick and offensive lineman B.J. Finney. Why was Dunlap traded? Does this further Cincinnati's defensive woes? And aside from what's transpired this season, Dunlap made his mark on the Cincinnati community. What can fans of the orange and black stripes expect from Finney and former Bills offensive lineman, Quinton Spain, who was recently signed, too? The Athletic's Buffalo Bills and Pittsburgh Steelers penmen, Matthew Fairburn and Mark Kaboly, respectively, describe both linemen's skillset and how they faired with in their former clubs' systems. So, how will each player impact Zac Taylor's group? After the guys talk about the Bengals' new guys, what can fans expect against Cincy's upcoming opponent, the Tennessee Titans? The Athletic's Titans' pundit, Joe Rexrode, provides details about Tennessee's troops ahead of Sunday's brawl . How has QB Ryan Tannehill performed in his second year under center? Is Derrick Henry revving up for another Winter of indominable football, and what's up with Jadeveon Clowney's slow start? Y'all need to step up your Growler game, seriously. Paul and Jay are gracious and give you all another shot at a sought after brew.

Another miserable showing by the defense places Paul and Jay near the epicenter of 'how does Cincinnati fix their defense' discourse. So, is it possible for the Bengals to improve their stop unit? The guys explore that, the Geno Atkains/Carlos Dunlap usage kerfuffle and more. Among less likely options to improve the front line, could the club orchestrate a trade before next week's deadline, and if so, who could be on their radar? PDJ and Jay react to Zac Taylor's comments regarding his coaching staff's efficacy and his trust in his subordinates, specifically, when it comes to defensive coordinator, Lou Anarumo. Anarumo then speaks about the defense, himself, and diagnoses the issues plaguing the team thus far and how to improve his squad. Lastly, Jay kicks in some stats that delineate Anarumo's performance as DC, plus an Anarumo-centric RPB.

Sports clichés, you've gotta love'em. Paul shares this affection for trite remarks, especially this gem: is this a must-win game? He and Jay entertain the notion that this Sunday is vital for Cincinnati. Is this weekend really that important? What could be the fallout from a loss? The duo revisit the it's-time-to-part-ways-with-Geno-Atkins discourse before Cincy's divisional bout. The Athletic's Cleveland Browns chronicler, Zac Jackson, joins Paul and Jay to preview Sunday's AFC North squabble. Is Baker Mayfield Cleveland's quarterback of the future? Why should we believe the Bengals can beat the Browns? With Cleveland's loss of Nick Chubb in mind, is this squad's ground attack still as potent? Since their last meeting, how has Kevin Stefanski's defense performed and how will his crew approach Cincinnati? Jay dug deep and researched with heart (callback to the sports clichés #FunGuy) to find playoff stats that may elevate concern among fans in the Dawg Pound. When he's not scrambling for his life, Joe Burrow has been really good. So good, in fact, that if he slings the ball to the tune of at least 300-yards this against Cleveland, he'll be in some heady company. Lastly, Paul is tired of shelling out 'free' beers, so he and Jay have concocted a doozy of a Growler bet.

Another week, another five minutes where we're left scratching our heads because the defensive line continues to underwhelm. Paul and Jay revisit a reoccurring issue this season; key defensive lineman (not naming any names Geno Atkins and Carlos Dunlap) playing very limited roles in relation to their generous contracts. What has to change? Is it time to cut bait (and by cut bait we mean trade or cut the gratuitous trappings)? Before words of hope fill Bengals fans' ears, Lou Anarumo, Bengals defensive coordinator, touches on Carlos Dunlap's role and fan consternation for the guys, or lack of guys, up front. GIVE ME HOPE! Yes, we will! Paul and Jay play the titular Give Me Hope in an attempt to remedy sour feelings present in the Cincinnati fanbase. Blown lead stats! You want them...right...no? Ok. Well, we still have blown lead stats so keep listening. The guys cap off today's episode with a rollicking RBP and will the Bengals trade John Ross?

There's much to get into in today's podcast, as Paul and Jay kickoff the show discussing no news...which is news considering A.J. Green and co. are mum on the 32-year-old wide out's satisfaction with the organization and his role amid reports of discontent. Next, can the Bengals defense win Cincinnati a game, particularly this week against a, surprisingly, meek Colts offense? To further expand on Indianapolis and themes surround them this season, The Athletic's Colts scrivener, Zak Keefer, joins Paul to chop it up over parallels between Andrew Luck's tenure in Indy and Joe Burrow's first five games as a Bengal, the squad's befuddlingly bad offense and why Phillip Rivers is at the center of it. As you may have heard, HTPG has a new show theme courtesy of The Bengal Boys! Paul welcomes two of the 'Boys' band members, Alex Dolezal and Dylan Bodley, to the program to discuss Cincinnati's season, the band's genre of music and upcoming projects. Lastly, the guys set this week's Growler bet and predict Sunday's outcome.

Cincinnati's defensive line has experienced a slew of injuries; leading Paul and Jay to question what the depleted front line will look like moving forward. Will the Bengals undergo a scheme change, and is it time Geno Atkins to step up? The loss column in Zac Taylor's coaching resume continues to climb, so is it understandable that he's on the hot seat? How has Cincinnati and Joe Burrow handled the blitz so far this year, and how often do their upcoming opponents deploy the rush? The guys try to play out how the A.J. Green situation will unfold before discussing Andy Dalton stepping into Dallas' starting QB role. Lastly, Optimistic Bobby, Bobby Slattery, chats with Paul about Cincy's season thus far, Andy Dalton and Growler bets.
