ChatGPT Asks the Questions - Healthcare IT Today Podcast Episode 108
Feb 20, 2023
For the 108th episode of the Healthcare IT Podcast, we decided to mix things up. Regular listeners will know that last episode we talked about Generative AI (ChatGPT being one example) in healthcare. With that context in mind, we thought it would be fun for this episode to let ChatGPT take over and asks us the questions. We asked ChatGPT the following question “Can you come up with 4 questions for a podcast on healthcare IT (technology)?” and it generated the following questions:
How is healthcare technology impacting the delivery of patient care?
What are some of the most promising advancements in healthcare IT currently under development?
How is the healthcare industry addressing concerns about data privacy and security with the increasing use of technology?
What role do you see technology playing in the future of the healthcare industry?
As you can see from the questions, they were pretty generic and not that good. We almost did the episode on these questions and figured we could make it interesting using our responses since the questions were so generic. However, then we decided to see if ChatGPT could do better. So, we asked ChatGPT to make the questions more specific and interesting. Here’s a look at the 2nd set of questions that ChatGPT provided us after this extra prompt:
How is the adoption of electronic health records (EHRs) changing the way doctors and nurses document patient care?
Can you discuss the use of telemedicine and how it’s being used to reach underserved communities?
How is the healthcare industry using Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning to improve patient outcomes?
Can you discuss the challenges of implementing and maintaining a successful healthcare IT infrastructure, and what solutions are being proposed to address these challenges?
As you can see, much more specific and interesting. We used these four questions as the framework for this episode. We’ll let you decide after listening to the episode if this was a good idea of bad. We look forward to hearing your thoughts in the comments and on social media.
Now, without further ado, we’re excited to share with you the next episode of the Healthcare IT Today podcast.

Is the Primary Care Relationship Dead? - Healthcare IT Today Podcast Episode 75
Nov 15, 2021
For the 75th episode of the Healthcare IT Podcast, we’re asking the question Is the Primary Care Relationship Dead? There are a couple of major trends that are happening in primary care right now. The first trend is investors, private equity, and large companies all investing in primary care. Hundreds of millions of dollars is flowing into the space. The second trend is more and more patients don’t have any relationship with a primary care doctor.
In this episode we dive into these two trends and discuss the impact these trends are having on primary care. We look at whether patients really want a relationship with their doctor or not. We also talk about whether patients would rather have a relationship with a company than a doctor.
Here’s a preview of the questions we discuss in this episode:
Do we want a relationship with our Primary Care Physician?
Is primary care just a gateway to other parts of healthcare?
Can we have a relationship with an organization/company or does it need to be a person?
Why is so much investment happening in primary care? Will these startups be successful?

Fake It Til you Make It - Does It Work in Healthcare? - Episode 74
Nov 01, 2021
For the 74th episode of the Healthcare IT Podcast, we’re talking about the principle of faking it til you make it and whether that works in healthcare? This topic was ripped from the headlines as the Theranos case proceeds forward and many of the details of their efforts to “fake it” come to light.
While Theranos is an extreme example, there’s a lot we can learn from it. Plus, it’s hard to ignore the many silicon valley tech companies who have used the fake it til you make it approach so successfully. However, in healthcare lives are on the line. Does that present a different bar or require a different approach? In this episode we share when that approach might be fine and when it’s fatal and not appropriate.
Here’s a preview of the questions we discuss in this episode:
Lessons Learned from Theranos and Elizabeth Holmes
Is it ok for health IT companies to fake it til they make it?
Does who you’re deceiving matter? (Investors vs Customers vs Employees vs Press)
How about faking it in your marketing?
