    About Harvey's guest:

Today’s special guest is a woman who truly exemplifies the terms self-motivation, self-reinvention, self-affirmation and ultimately, what it means to make a real difference in the world.

For 38 years she was simply known as the wife of the most prolific writer and producer in television history, Aaron Spelling, who ran Hollywood’s largest and most successful production company. He brought us such iconic TV shows as “The Mod Squad”, “Starsky & Hutch”, “Charlie’s Angels”, “Fantasy Island”, “The Love Boat”, “Dynasty”, “Beverly Hills 90210”, and many more. As the wife of one of Hollywood’s most powerful executives, our guest’s entire identity was wrapped up in being his collaborator, cheerleader, executive assistant, housekeeper, trophy wife, companion and support – not to mention, a very involved mother of 2 children.

After her husband died in 2006, she found herself at a profound crossroads, and over the course of the next few years, her transformation has been nothing short of astounding.

She’s written 2 best selling books, “Stories from Candyland”, and “Candy at Last”. She executive produced and starred in 2 highly successful HGTV mini-series about selling her world famous Hollywood mansion, “Spelling Manor”, AND designing and furnishing the condo she moved into after she sold the Manor.

If that weren’t enough, she’s become an enormously successful, multi-Tony award winning producer of 14 Broadway shows including “Promises Promises”, “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying”, “The Colour Purple”, “Tina: The Tina Turner Musical”, “Moulin Rouge: The Musical”, and her latest smash hit multi Tony nominated shows, “Mr. Saturday Night” and “MJ: The Musical”, which just won 4 Tony awards. And she’s actively involved in numerous civic and charitable activities, as one of America’s most beloved philanthropists. And of course, she spends as much time as she can with her 7 beautiful grandchildren, who affectionately call her “Candy Gram”.

Harvey Brownstone Interviews Rick Marcelli & Robin Bragg-Marcelli, Authors, “Hide Your Love Away: An Intimate Story of Brian Epstein as Told by Larry Stanton” May 27, 2022
    Show notes

Harvey Brownstone conducts an in-depth interview with Rick Marcelli & Robin Bragg-Marcelli, Authors, “Hide Your Love Away: An Intimate Story of Brian Epstein as Told by Larry Stanton”

    About Harvey's guest:

Today’s show is about one of the most brilliant, successful, and yet enigmatic and tragic figures in the history of show business: Brian Epstein, the man responsible for the phenomenal success of the world’s greatest rock and roll band: the Beatles.

Brian Epstein was by far the most important and successful music artist manager of his time, and he ran a rock and roll empire. But what the public didn’t know, is that he was a tormented, lonely, emotionally fragile gay man desperately trying to hide his secret personal life, and to cope with the constant threat of gay bashing, blackmail, extortion, and even criminal prosecution – because homosexuality was a serious criminal offence back then. Brian Epstein died in 1967 of a drug overdose at the age of 32. And there’s been much speculation about the circumstances of his death.

Our guests, Rick Marcelli and Robin Bragg-Marcelli, have written a fascinating book on behalf of their close friend, who was first a lover, and then a very close friend of Brian Epstein’s for the last 4 years of his life. The book is entitled, “Hide Your Love Away: An Intimate Story of Brian Epstein as told by Larry Stanton”. Our guests are well known in the entertainment industry and have had impressive careers in artist management and producing.

Harvey Brownstone Interviews Legendary Actor, Producer and Author, Robert Wagner May 26, 2022
    Show notes

Harvey Brownstone conducts an in-depth interview with Legendary Actor, Producer and Author, Robert Wagner

    About Harvey's guest:

Robert Wagner is one of the most popular and successful stars in the entertainment industry, boasting three hit television series and an impressive list of both feature and television films. He has acted in over 100 films and made hundreds of television appearances in his 70+ year career.

As a young man under contract to 20th Century Fox, Robert Wagner was cast by Darryl F. Zanuck in With a Song in My Heart. Although the part lasted a scant minute, his performance as a crippled soldier responding to the song of Susan Hayward’s Jane Froman brought immediate public reaction to the studio. Spencer Tracy saw his performance in Beneath the Twelve Mile Reef and requested Wagner for the role of his son in Broken Lance. Tracy was so impressed with Wagner, he cast him again as his brother in The Mountain. A small sample of Wagner’s numerous film credits includes Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story, The Pink Panther, The Curse of the Pink Panther, Midway, The Towering Inferno, Banning, Harper, Prince Valiant, The True Story of Jesse James, and All the Fine Young Cannibals. He starred with Joanne Woodward in her film debut, A Kiss Before Dying. Antonio Banderas directed Wagner in Crazy in Alabama. In the 1990s, he was introduced to a new legion of fans with the role of Number Two, the villainous henchman to Dr. Evil, the archenemy of Mike Myers’ title character in the Austin Powers trilogy.

On television, Wagner starred in three long-running series. He was nominated for an Emmy for his role as suave cat-burglar Alexander Mundy in It Takes a Thief with Malachi Throne and Fred Astaire. He portrayed con man-turned-detective Pete Ryan in Switch with Eddie Albert and Sharon Gless. And Wagner became a fan favorite as the debonair and charming millionaire/amateur detective Jonathan Hart in Hart to Hart with Stefanie Powers.

Other illustrious television performances include starring with Jaclyn Smith in the top-rated miniseries, Windmills of the Gods — based on Sidney Sheldon’s best-selling novel; Angie Dickinson in the miniseries Pearl; Audrey Hepburn in Love Among Thieves; Lesley Anne Down in Indiscreet; and Elizabeth Taylor in There Must Be a Pony, which he also executive-produced. He appeared alongside such notable names as Philip Casnoff, Kyle Chandler, Cathy Lee Crosby, Leslie-Ann Down, and Billy Dee Williams in North and South: Book 3, Heaven and Hell. Sir Laurence Olivier chose Wagner to star with him in the television adaptation of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. Wagner’s wife, the late Natalie Wood, co-starred with them.

In addition to his film and television ventures, Robert toured the world performing in A.R. Gurney’s Love Letters with Stefanie Powers. They were the first to launch the tour internationally. After his tour with Powers ended, Wagner enjoyed the play so much, he continued performing it at charity events and around the world with his wife, actress Jill St. John.

Away from the acting world, Robert Wagner has long been a fan of golf and boasted a five handicap. He once beat professional golfer Sam Snead in a head-to-head competition. Footage of this win is posted in the Video section of this page under Additional Videos.

Harvey Brownstone Interviews Eduardo Goncalves, Founder of The Campaign to Ban Trophy Hunting, Conservationist, Activist and Author May 19, 2022
    Show notes

Harvey Brownstone conducts an in-depth interview with Eduardo Goncalves, Founder of The Campaign to Ban Trophy Hunting, Conservationist, Activist and Author

    About Harvey's guest:

Did you know that, every 3 minutes, a defenceless animal is killed by a trophy hunter?

Last year we featured filmmakers Lynn Santer and James Ganiere to discuss their award-winning film, “Land of the Free: In the Shadows”, which exposes the horrors and monstrosity of the so-called “sport” of trophy hunting of endangered species.

Today’s special guest is Eduardo Goncalves, the world’s foremost expert, author and advocate in the battle to ban this barbaric “recreational activity” engaged in by the super rich.

In 2018, he established an organization called “The Campaign to Ban Trophy Hunting”. He rapidly made trophy hunting the biggest animal welfare and conservation issue in Britain. His investigations have exposed how some of the world’s most endangered species are being cruelly killed by the thousands, simply for fun.

Our guest has brought together politicians, the media, public figures, the business community and the general public, in support of a ban on trophy imports into the UK. And now, he’s leading an international campaign, to abolish trophy hunting and ban trophy imports across the world.

    He’s written many books, including

× “Trophy Hunters Exposed: Inside the Big Game Industry”

× “Killing Game: The Extinction Industry”

× “Trophy Leaks: Trophy Hunters and Industry Secrets Revealed”

× “Undercover Trophy Hunter: Britain’s Top 20 Hunters Revealed” and

× The Fox, the Hound and the Human

He’s a renowned conservationist, and he coordinated the World Wildlife Federation’s “One Planet Living” initiative, which developed the first global footprint calculator for consumers.
