Birding Minnesota: Sax-Zim Bog Feb 25, 2021

Show notes

Sax-Zim Bog is one of those legendary places we knew we'd have to go someday - below freezing temperatures and Great Gray Owls are the things most birders dream about. A spur of the moment trip lead us to one of the great birding locations in the US!
*Please be aware that we do discuss the recent allegations of sexual assault. Nature should be a place for respite and joy - and violence against anyone should not be tolerated in birding, nor any other community.

We stand with, and support, Aisha and other survivors of abuse. It is our hope that we can all work together so that the birding community is compassionate, safe, and inclusive. *

What does Biden-Harris mean for the birds? Feb 11, 2021

Show notes

On January 20, 2021, Joe Biden was inaugurated as the 46th president of the United States of America and Kamala Harris was inaugurated as the 49th vice president. But what does that mean for birds?
On their first day in office, a list of agency actions for review were submitted to agency heads, some of which impacts birds. When we started to review that list we quickly realized we were in over our heads, so we decided to find someone that could help us!
