Reading is one of the best long term plays that you can spend your time on. 20 minutes a day adds up when you do it for 5 years straight.
You can read about it and talk about discipline all you want but do you actually apply it? The power is all in the application of discipline. Without the application there are no rewards.
You don't need crazy goals and a mission to start. You don't need to do anything else other than show up once. If you can show up once you can show up twice.
We can learn a lot from conquerors. They physically conquered a lot of land and people in order to get what they want. We don't have to accomplish things as hard. Now we mostly need to just master ourselves.
We were made to live life together in tribes. Our biggest fear is being ostracised from the tribe. Accountability is one of the best ways to change for this very reason.
If you want to reach your full potential you need to run as far from entitlement as you possibly can. Being entitled will get you no where! When you humble yourself and understand that nothing is for sure, the real work begins.
Passion can be sneaky and you have to give it time to develop. Too many people quit when they are so close to finding their thing.
There is something that makes it hard to build good habits. That is the lack of craving they come with. If you craved working out like you did donuts it would be easy to stay in shape.
Most people never stop to think through what things they have bought into because their parents told them to. You need to think through it all and let go of what ideas are no long serving you.
You can't pour into others what you don't have in yourself! The more you pour into yourself the easier and the more tools you will have to help others with.

Stretching is one of the most underrated ways to take care of yourself. Simply putting 10 minutes of stretching in everyday will change your mental and physical health.
You need to practice deliberate practice if you want to improve any skill.

When you have a fixed mindset you will always have a ceiling on your abilities. When you have a growth mindset you removing the ceiling because you always believe you can learn, improve and get better.

I take the time to tell my story. I recently was writing about how I was first introduced to the idea of habit building.
The only way your habits can be improved is if you are first aware of them.
There is nothing wrong with being an amateur or teaching amateurs but you have to know that they are looking for different things. If you feel you are working towards mastery, you need to change your mindset when it comes to feedback.
There are no short cuts or easy routes to success. You have to take the stairs and you're going to take the long way to get there and that is ok. You have to be ready to endure and keep pushing until you win. If you let your guard down too early someone will scoop what you have built.
You live life to the level of standards you set. If you want to get more then you need to set higher standards for yourself.
You have dream delusion if you just expect your dream to drop in your lap out of thin air. It sounds crazy but this is what most people do. They set goals that our outlandish and they create 0 plan or path to get there.
Learning a new skill is not always going to be fun. You reach a point where you are starting to improve and you have to continue working on the basics. Only problem is that you have been working on the basics and you want to do something new now. All of the value in life is in the mundane activities.
Dealing with rejection is something every successful person figured out. You have to be able to remove the noise from life and never stop moving forward.
If you learn for an hour a day imagine where you will be in 10 years if you keep that up? That is the power of habit and you never know what information you will run into that will change your life.
You need to have all three of the following:

Grit is the mix of passion over the long run and perseverance. You need them both and the more of this you have, the higher your chances of success are. Anyone can go hard for a little bit of time, but to sustain this takes a different type of beast.
People have been trying to figure out what makes you successful for years. It has been proven time and time again that Grit is the best predictor of success.
We love to believe in other people before we believe in ourselves. We have a tendency to want to help the whole world and then almost feel guilty for wanting to help ourselves and its nonsense. Its out of an overflow of pouring into ourselves that we can pour into others.

Everyone needs a mission because it's the thing that keep you grinding even when you have seen a bit of success.
There are tonnes of tech products that are designed to get you to waste your life using them. There is an opportunity costs to this and you have to find a way to turn that negative time into positive time.
Success takes time. It takes a lot more time than most people think that it should take. If you are not willing to put in 10 years of work then you need to find a new thing,
The more you believe and are working towards your gift, the easier of a time you will have sticking with your habits because you are living in your life purpose.
Life is going to happen and no one is perfect. The key is getting things right 90% of the time.
The habit of reading is powerful but it takes a long time to see change. As you read more, you start coming across books that are so good that they need to be dissected daily.
The difference between the people who go on to succeed and the ones that fail is the ability to show up despite your feelings. Not everyday is going to be a perfect and good day. You have to make a way for yourself by just doing it when most others would not.
Here are some items that influence your environment:
You have to move from the well worn path and make a new path through the jungle. It's not easy but it's worth it! Each time you walk the new path you strengthen its ability in becoming a go to habit.

After you build yourself emotionally and mentally, you must work on your physical strength.
Mental strength is the most important of the three when it comes to strength. The only path their is through discipline.
To be successful you have to be able to keep your emotions in check.
Time is the most valuable resource we have and it should be treated as such.
Nothing happens if you don't first believe in yourself and that change is possible.
Don't sleep on your supporting habits.
Habits built on Cues vs. Habit Stacking who wins and why?
Understanding the habit loop is the basics of all habit change. If you cannot grasp this you will never be able to change your habits with ease.
Disappointment is always lurking in life. You have to learn to deal with it and keep moving forward.
Mastering the basics are the key to being good at any craft. If you don't get the basics down, you won't be able to do the more advanced stuff.
The only way to get ahead in life is to render more service than what you are paid. If you try to cheat this system you end up cheating yourself.

The Lord has made everything for its day of trouble, even the wicked for its day of trouble.
The most important thing you can do is figure out why you are here.
If you only use and rely on your habits when times are going well, you are missing the biggest benefit of excellent habits.
Stop trying to avoid pain so you can live a comfortable life. People who stay inside their comfort zones never do great things. Greatness demands you do much more. You have to destroy glass ceilings in your life knowing that you are going to bleed.

If you want to build effective habits and make sure you stick with them. Here is the system to help you do it.
Don't be in a rush to improve your habits. You have to first know that it is a habit before you can make any big leaps forward/
No matter how much you want to change the outside, you must change the inside first.
You always want to have some accountability when you are making a change that is hard.
If you are staying the same day to day and year to year you are being left behind. Everyday presents opportunities to grow.
Your product will never be perfect or just right. You have to leap! And trust that your parachute will open.
Your mind will use both emotional and logical arguments to make you stop. Tell it to shut up!
Stop acting like you deserve rest. Rest is for people who work!
You must know if you’re a pro or an amateur. If you don’t know you could be getting too much praise for your own good.
These three tips will help you to see that changing habits are more about your environment and identity than just will power.
Life is going to smack you in the face and the best thing you can do is stay in your normal rhythm of life. Don’t allow the adversity to get you in your feelings and make you stop taking any action.
Read to improve don’t just read to entertain yourself.
Great things take time. Success never comes out of microwaves.
