The Milwaukee Bucks trail the Indiana Pacers through one game of their rematch NBA Playoffs series after Milwaukee got drubbed in the second quarter and failed to come back in the second half. The Bucks lost 117-98 despite Giannis Antetokounmpo’s 36-point performance on better than 60% field goal shooting.

Ti Windisch, Rohan Katti, and Jordan Treske convened to dissect why Doc Rivers simply has to change up the starting lineup, even if they don’t think he will, after Taurean Prince and Kyle Kuzma combined for a grand total of 0 points and Brook Lopez predictably struggled with Indiana’s speed and shooting bigs. They also discuss what went right for the Bucks, namely their Giannis and bench lineup that got them back in the game despite Gary Trent Jr and Bobby Portis Jr not shooting well from 3, and how nice it was to see AJ Green show he can knock down 3s at a high clip in a playoff game.

The GSPN trio also discussed the impact Damian Lillard could have when he returns to the lineup, either next time out or for Game 3, but agree that simply inserting Dame for Ryan Rollins won’t be enough to counteract the Bucks weaknesses on display from their starting group.

Bucks playoff preview plus Dame return update with Marques Johnson! Apr 18, 2025

Milwaukee Bucks legend (on and off court) Marques Johnson joined Ti Windisch and Rohan Katti on a VERY special Milwaukee Bucks NBA Playoffs preview podcast to discuss the key Bucks topics heading into the series.

Marques opines on the growth of Giannis Antetokounmpo over the years, how Damian Lillard got back earlier than anticipated from his DVT to hopefully play in this first round, the challenge for Doc Rivers to re-integrate Dame plus manage a deep rotation throughout the series, knowing Doc since the 80s (including an incredible Don Nelson story), the fabled Giannis and friends fourth quarter lineup and if more of those players should start, his 10-year stint as Bucks broadcaster and why he brings advanced stats to the broadcast, and of course his series prediction.

The Milwaukee Bucks find themselves facing off with the Indiana Pacers yet again, and the Bucks aren't the only team in a different spot entering the 2025 NBA Playoffs vs last season. To get some more perspective on the Indiana Pacers side of things, Ti Windisch recorded a crossover preview with Alex Golden and Facci of the Setting the Pace Podcast! The Milwaukee Bucks are red hot entering the 2025 NBA Playoffs, clinching the fifth seed and winning their last 8 games including a very fun pointless one on Sunday afternoon.

Ti Windisch and Rohan Katti discuss their biggest takeaways from this run, including point Giannis Antetokounmpo putting up Nikola Jokic numbers as a heliocentric first option, a balanced supporting cast who have been able to make the shots he opens up for them consistently, the high level of point guard play Milwaukee continues to get from Kevin Porter Jr and Ryan Rollins, and whether Doc Rivers will utilize the forbidden closing lineup of KPJ/Gary Trent Jr/AJ Green/Giannis/Bobby Portis that has dominated fourth quarters recently even more often in the playoffs.

The Milwaukee Bucks swept a weekend back-to-back in Miami and New Orleans and suddenly find themselves back in the fifth seed in the Eastern Conference, with a path to holding onto that spot and locking in a rematch with the Indiana Pacers in the first round.

Ti Windisch and Rohan Katti had a lot to discuss on the latest Gyro Step, including the Bucks point guard rotation of Kevin Porter Jr and Ryan Rollins continuing to produce enough for Milwaukee to survive without Damian Lillard, the chance for Dame to possibly return according to Bucks sources, how important getting Bobby Portis back on Tuesday against the Timberwolves will be, and the success Milwaukee has had running a heliocentric offense featuring Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Also they had a Kyle Kuzma discussion after Kuz bounced back from a rough stretch with a strong game, and debated who the first 5 should be against the Pacers.

Luka Trade, Giannis/Dame pairing, disappointing Bucks and more with Tim MacMahon Apr 04, 2025

ESPN’s Tim MacMahon, who covers the NBA’s Western Conference and just wrote The Wonder Boy, a great book you should go buy detailing the Dallas Mavericks dealing with the pressure of contending with a young superstar in Luka Doncic, joined the Gyro Step!

Ti Windisch and Rohan Katti took turns asking Tim a bunch of questions, including how he learned about the Luka trade and his first thoughts and how he had to add a chapter to his book but it tied into themes that ran throughout regarding the Mavs’ frustrations with Luka.

The conversation then shifted to the Milwaukee Bucks, including why Milwaukee has been so disappointing in the Damian Lillard/Giannis Antetokounmpo era, Tim’s interview of Giannis that may have hit a nerve on their partnership, and what could happen if the Bucks yet again flame out in the first round.

Bucks fall flat vs Hawks as losing streak reaches four games Mar 31, 2025

The Milwaukee Bucks response to adversity has been lacking in March, as the Bucks dropped yet another game on Sunday at home to an Atlanta Hawks team down a key starter and looking up at Milwaukee in the standings from the play-in.

The King Rohan Katti returns and joins Ti Windisch on the Gyro Step to discuss how Milwaukee’s point guard combo of Kevin Porter Jr and Ryan Rollins is helping to replace Damian Lillard in the aggregate but still not enough for the Bucks to win games, whether the starting lineup still needs to change, why the Bucks keep losing opponents in transition and leaving shooters open, and how on earth a Giannis Antetokounmpo-led team can be this flat. And how Doc Rivers and his 44 coach staff don’t seem to have adequate structures in place on offense and defense.

Grizzlies fire Taylor Jenkins; plus Knicks/Bucks talk with Knicks Film School Mar 28, 2025
    Show notes

The Memphis Grizzlies shocked the NBA by firing Grizz head coach (and former Milwaukee Bucks assistant coach) Taylor Jenkins on Friday, so Ti Windisch opened this bonus Gyro Step episode with some thoughts on why despite liking Jenkins as a coach the Bucks should NOT hire him or anybody else mid-season, or before getting a true organizational plan in place that they’ve lacked post Mike Budenholzer.

Then the conversation shifts to a Knicks Film School episode Ti and KFS host Andrew Claudio (aka GMAC) recorded prior to the Jenkins news, featuring a ton of Bucks and New York Knicks talk ahead of their Friday night matchup. Ti and Andrew also covered some very early playoff previewing, as the Knicks and Bucks could very well end up first round opponents. While Jalen Brunson and Giannis Antetokounmpo will hopefully be active by then, there’s a shot neither of them plus Damian Lillard are out for tonight’s game.

Damian Lillard out indefinitely with deep vein thrombosis in calf | Emergency Pod Mar 26, 2025

After missing the Milwaukee Bucks last few games, on Tuesday evening the Milwaukee Bucks announced Damian Lillard would be out indefinitely with deep vein thrombosis that it was discovered was behind his calf injury. Soon after the news dropped, Ti Windisch, Jordan Treske, and Numac sat down to share their immediate thoughts as well as short- and long-term fallout from the news.

Bucks melt late in Phoenix plus problematic Dame injury update Mar 25, 2025
    Show notes

The Milwaukee Bucks lost 108-106 to the Phoenix Suns for a lot of reasons, but one of them was definitely late game execution. That’s where Ti Windisch started in this solo Gyro Step episode, with his disappointment in the Bucks not being on the same page yet again in a big-time moment.

Other topics include the injury report, with a foreboding update on Damian Lillard’s status plus Milwaukee being short on bigs for most of the rest of the way, as well as a look at the current rotation and what is not working. The spacing with the starters is a struggle between Kyle Kuzma and Brook Lopez, and AJ Green’s ongoing slump isn’t helping matters much. At least Giannis Antetokounmpo looks great still, and Ryan Rollins put together his best game in weeks vs Phoenix.
