Back to school is such a fun and exciting time for most of us, but for some families it's a lesson they never wanted and one they'll never forget.
Hi, I’m investigative journalist Mollye Barrows. I’ve been covering crime in Florida’s Panhandle for years and welcome to Gulf Coast Confidential Conversations. Here we dive into the deep end and discuss what we can learn from the true crime cases I talk about on Gulf Coast Confidential.
My co-host is Pam Hill. Her sister, Sharon Aydelott, was murdered by her son on Christmas Eve 2013, and she has a unique perspective on crimes and scandals, as a survivor of violent crime, a grief and loneliness researcher, and a pharmacist, as well.
This is part 2 of our series on abusers in positions of authority who prey on children called, “Lambs to the Slaughter." In this episode, we're talking about the arrest of a Pensacola teacher who befriended and groomed vulnerable girls online and in the classroom, starting when they were innocent middle schoolers.

This is the first of a three part series called, “Lambs to the Slaughter.” We're discussing several cases that involve abusers in positions of authority who used their power to prey on vulnerable children and sexually abuse them.
Lambs to the Slaughter: Part 1 is on the arrest and conviction of Gulf Breeze United Methodist Church youth minister, Ryan Walsh. He was arrested in 2020 for sending sexually explicit texts messages to a 13-year-old girl in the church’s youth group and later touching her behind the local recreation center.
Not only did Ryan Walsh and church leadership know the girl had been abused before she and her family became members, but according to a civil lawsuit filed against them, Walsh had virtually no oversight during his time with the vulnerable young girl.

In May 2023, Letiticia Stauch was convicted of first-degree murder after deliberation, first-degree murder of a child by a person in a position of trust, tampering with a deceased human body and tampering with physical evidence.

She tried to defend herself by saying she was insane at the time she attacked him, but jurors didn't buy it and we say, "Bye-bye, Leticia!"

How do some sex offenders manage to escape notice? That is, until something awful happens. In this case, a child paid the price.
In this episode of Gulf Coast Confidential, Pam Hill and I talk about the abduction and murder of a 12-year-old Pensacola girl by a registered sex offender. How did he go unnoticed? Because Robert Howard thumbed his nose at the justice system.
The Alabama man moved in part-time with his girlfriend across the state line in Florida, where no one was the wiser that he had just served 15 years in prison for rape.
Join us for a closer look at the heartbreaking case of Naomi Jones and how her disappearance stunned the community who came from every corner of the county to search for the girl.
Until fishermen found the little girl where Howard left her, leaving them to wonder, "It's her, isn't?"

Hi, I’m Mollye Barrows, a long-time reporter in Florida’s Panhandle and welcome to my true crime investigative series, Gulf Coast Confidential, where I explore the saltier stories that surface in Northwest Florida and all along the Gulf of Mexico.
This is a companion series called Gulf Coast Confidential Conversations where my co-host, Pam Hill, and I dive deep to discuss crimes and scandals.

The series was popular with people across the country and the documentary exposes a culture where women and girls say they're abused and silenced, accusations that surface in similar crimes and organizations along the Gulf Coast and nationwide.

While most people are better off after seeing the doctor, that wasn’t the case for some patients and employees of a prominent and well-known Pensacola dentist. They say he abused his power and his profession to touch, terrify, and terrorize them for years, in and out of the office.
Join my co-host Pam Hill and me as we explain how he left them with "Nothin' to Smile About."
