Or use an aimless young high school kid looking for answers...such as Greg Laurie. The Bible is full of people who seemed to lack ability but offered availability. And today on A NEW BEGINNING, Pastor Greg Laurie points out the time is right for God to use you. What’s holding you back from saying yes to what the Lord has in mind?

God Enough, Part 2 | Leaving Your Comfort Zone Aug 18, 2023

Show notes

Imagine if the signers of the Declaration of Independence had stayed within their comfort zone. Imagine if Henry Ford was satisfied with the horse and buggy. Or if Steve Jobs thought the flip phone was good enough. Those men changed their world. And today on A NEW BEGINNING, Pastor Greg Laurie points out that God wants to take us outside our comfort zone to change our world. It’s not about nations or cars or phones. It’s about letting God use us to impact people with an eternal message.

God Enough, Part 1 | Lessons From Moses Aug 17, 2023

Show notes

The Bible helps us learn real lessons from real people. Sometimes we learn from their successes, sometimes we learn from their failures. But it helps to see principles lived out in real life. And currently on A NEW BEGINNING, Pastor Greg Laurie is helping us learn from the life of Moses. He was a great prophet, a true man of God...but he was a man with shortcomings and blind spots, as are we. And today, we’ll learn from Moses’ impulsiveness, and learn from his shortcomings.

Your Life Has a Purpose | Case In Point Aug 15, 2023

Show notes

Certain advertisers used to be guilty of something called “Bait and Switch.” The consumer would get lured into the store by something the advertiser had no plan to deliver. So it goes with the way our adversary tries to bait us with his temptations...but sin never delivers guilt-free pleasure. And today on A NEW BEGINNING, Pastor Greg Laurie takes us to an important case in point in the life of one of the Bible’s great Old Testament patriarchs. We’ll learn from his experience.

Your Life Has a Purpose | How God Can Help Us Rise Above Aug 14, 2023

Show notes

The world has a knack for attempting to put a happy face on some deep, dark times of crisis. “What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.” “Don’t worry, be happy.” “Look on the bright side.” But sometimes an earthquake so shakes our lives that there doesn’t seem to be a bright side. But...don’t mountains rise from earthquakes? Today on A NEW BEGINNING, Pastor Greg Laurie helps us see how God can help us rise above our pain, and He can put our past to use in the most fulfilling ways.

The World Changer at the End of the World, Part 2 | Winding Up In Some Kind of Ditch Aug 11, 2023

Show notes

Imagine sitting in the driver’s seat of your parked car. And you start disassembling your steering wheel. You loosen the nut that holds your steering wheel in place. Now, the steering wheel is barely connected to your front wheels. Are you willing to hit the open highway without that control? Only if you like ditches. Today on A NEW BEGINNING, from the series Heroes of the Bible, Pastor Greg Laurie points out some people choose to do that with their very lives...and wind up in some kind of ditch.

The World Changer at the End of the World, Part 2 | The Lord Is There to Catch Us Aug 10, 2023

Show notes

Funambulism is the skill of walking the tightrope...the high wire. And performers face mortal danger...it’s a long way down. The last thing they want (literally) is to make it only half way across the high wire. Today on A NEW BEGINNING, Pastor Greg Laurie points out it’s even more important to finish the race of life well. There’s mortal danger, there’s uncertainty and breathless moments. But thankfully, when we fall, the Lord is there to catch us and restore us.
