How to Live a Spirit-Led Life | Being Spiritually Minded May 17, 2023

Show notes

It’s fashionable to be an independent thinker. To question the norm. To think outside the box. But what do we call all those independent thinkers who think the same way? It may not always be beneficial to think outside the box, but it IS always beneficial to look up. Today on A NEW BEGINNING, Pastor Greg Laurie points out success isn’t measured in how different we are from other people. No, it’s measured in how much we pattern our thoughts and our actions after the Lord. More on that today.

How to Live a Spirit-Led Life | Restoration Through God's Power May 16, 2023

Show notes

In most parts of this country, if a building falls into disrepair, there’s a good chance they’ll knock it down and start over. But in most of Europe, it isn’t that way. Buildings aren’t as “disposable” . . . and in some towns 500 year old buildings are commonplace. The Lord doesn’t treat sinners as disposable. Today on A NEW BEGINNING, Pastor Greg Laurie points out God stands ready to meet us where we are, and help us put the pieces of our sin-shattered lives back together.

How to Overcome the Power of Sin | Breaking Free May 15, 2023

There’s a conspiracy afoot. Forces are conspiring together to bring you down. What are they? The world, the flesh and the Devil. We’re surrounded by temptation, and those forces make sure we’re aware. So is our fall, our failure a fait accompli? An unavoidable, irreversible outcome? Pastor Greg Laurie says no. Today on A NEW BEGINNING, he offers some important help from the book of Romans in a practical message called How to Overcome the Power of Sin.

How to Overcome the Power of Sin | From Carnality to Spirituality May 12, 2023

Show notes

It’s possible to dutifully drive to the gym every morning, and drive thru the donut shop on the way back home. It’s possible to set aside time every morning for devotions, but then get distracted by all the stuff on social media. Good intentions by themselves don’t take us far down the path of holiness. Today on A NEW BEGINNING, Pastor Greg Laurie helps us see where our lives are out of adjustment, and helps us chart a course away from carnality and into spiritual growth.

Don't Let the Old Man In | Two Natures May 11, 2023

Show notes

Those who’ve had heart surgery often talk of feeling younger and more energetic after the surgery. Their blood flows better, more oxygen to their system, they feel brand new. Spiritually speaking, we get a new heart when we come to the Lord. We’re new creatures in Christ. The old man is dead. But today on A NEW BEGINNING, Pastor Greg Laurie says sometimes that old man tries to come back to life. Paul addressed that very issue in the book of Romans, and that’s our subject for today.

Don't Let the Old Man In | Victory Over Temptation May 10, 2023

Show notes

Sometimes believers give the Devil more credit than he deserves. “I couldn’t help myself; the Devil made me do it.” Not really. Sin requires our cooperation. We don’t fall into sin, we jump. Today on A NEW BEGINNING, Pastor Greg Laurie points out how our adversary and our sinful nature may conspire to lure us, but we can stand in the Lord’s victory over temptation. How? That’s what today’s study is about. Pastor Greg helps us chart a path toward spiritual success.

We’ll see God does His part, we cooperate with what He’s done, and there are a few things that are up to us. Let’s learn how it all works together.
