Welcome back to Gotta Game For You — where we always have a game lined up just for you! We’re deep into our Summer Game Fest 2025 coverage, and today we’re bringing you Part Three of our hands-on impressions, gameplay reactions, and exclusive interviews!

This episode, Meghan (@strawburry17) and Shelby (@shubble) are diving into three standout titles that truly stuck with us — spanning paranormal co-op combat, food-fueled mech battles, and chaotic capture-the-flag competition.

If you loved Control, imagine stepping into the shoes of Bureau agents hunting supernatural anomalies together. Firebreak drops you into unstable dimensions to take down twisted threats, gather resources, and power up your clearance level. It’s tense, cinematic, and cranked up to eleven. Shelby got hands-on with the demo, and trust us — this one is weird in the best way.

Then we suited up in Dosa Divas: One Last Meal. Two sisters. One mech powered by food. A heartfelt journey blending culture, family, and strategy — and yes, you literally cook dishes to fuel your combat moves. We played the demo and sat down with creative director Chandana Ekanayake to talk storytelling, identity, and the power of food in games.This one’s emotional, cultural, and unlike anything else we’ve played.

Finally, we kicked things into competitive chaos with The Last Flag from Night Street Games — a fast, hero-based capture-the-flag arena shooter that turns childhood playground battles into big, flashy multiplayer hype. We got hands-on during a LAN event and it was just as chaotic and fun as you'd imagine. Plus, we caught up with Mac Reynolds for an exclusive update on where development is at now and what's coming next.

Escape Rooms, Tamagotchi's, and Your New Favorite Party Game | GGFY Summer Game Fest Special Part 2 Oct 09, 2025

Welcome back to Gotta Game For You, where we always have a game lined up just for you! Come join Meghan, Lina and Shelby for a very special episode where we check out everything at Summer Game Fest!

In part two of our special Summer Game Fest 2025 episode, Meghan and Shelby are continuing their coverage with more games and exclusives!

First up, we’re checking out Escape Academy 2, the sequel to the hit puzzle adventure where every class is an escape room designed to make you think under pressure. You’ll return to the academy to tackle new lessons that blend puzzle-solving with a full-on school experience.

Next we checked out Meghan’s most anticipated game at Summer Game Fest, Petal Runner. Petal Runner is a slice-of-life RPG set in the neon city of Sapphire Valley. You play as Cali, a scooter courier training alongside your HanaPet companion Kira to deliver and repair flower-powered energy cells that keep the city alive. Play mini-games, explore cozy districts, and meet the people who make this world feel alive.

Lastly, we’re looking at Lego Party, a brand new board-game style party game that mixes dice rolls, mini-games, and items with Lego’s signature humor and brick-building charm. You’re literally building the board as you play! This time we’re joining Meghan at home along with Lina and friends Gemzape and CozyTeaGames for a more cozy experience.

We’re also sharing exclusive developer interviews with some of the teams— including Wyatt Bushnell and Mike Salyh from Coin Crew Games (Escape Academy 2) and Brandon Greer and Danny Guo from Nano Park Studios (Petal Runner) with this being their very first game!

What's Next for Blumhouse Games? | GGFY Summer Game Fest Special Part 1 Sep 18, 2025

In part one of this special Summer Game Fest 2025 episode, Meghan and Shelby are diving into the latest lineup from Blumhouse Games — the new horror game studio from the creators of Get Out and Paranormal Activity.

First up, we’re revisiting Fear the Spotlight — Blumhouse Games’ first release, and a must-play if you’re curious about where Blumhouse is headed next. It’s a retro-style horror game about a séance gone wrong in a ‘90s high school. Think late-night Blockbuster vibes, creepy puzzles, and a monster with a spotlight for a head. Short enough to play in one sitting, but it lingers. If you haven’t played it yet, now’s the time — it’s out now on all platforms.

Then we’re diving into two of the newest indie horror games from Blumhouse that we got to demo at SGF:

Grave Seasons — A cozy farming sim meets murder mystery where someone in town is secretly a killer. Farm by day, investigate by night — and be careful who you romance. Every playthrough features a new murderer, making it part cozy, part chilling, and totally replayable.

Crisol: Theater of Idols — A gothic horror FPS set on a cursed Spanish island where your blood is your ammo. You’ll fight grotesque saints, explore haunting cathedrals, and decide just how much you're willing to sacrifice to survive. It’s a surreal, brutal take on survival horror, grounded in Spanish folklore.

We’re also sharing exclusive developer interviews with the teams behind both games — including Son and Emmett from Perfect Garbage (Grave Seasons), and David from Vermila Studios (Crisol). Plus, a special sit-down with Louise Blain, Creative Lead at Blumhouse Games, where she spills the tea on the future of horror games and what Blumhouse is working on next.

Meghan has been getting flirty in Date Everything, a sandbox dating simulator set in the comfort of your own home, featuring 100 fully voice acted datable characters! Lina has just started her own playthrough of Wanderstop, a narrative-centric cozy game about change and tea, from the makers of Stanley Parable. And Shelby has been obsessively playing through Fields of Mistria, a farming/life sim RPG where you build the farm of your dreams as you discover a world brimming with magic, romance, and adventure, currently in early access. And some more additional games we’ve been playing lately: Japanese Rural Life Adventure, Rat Shaker, R.E.P.O.and Peak!
We’re talking about our plans for the podcast moving forward. In order to post more and deliver all this exciting game news to you more frequently and consistently, we’re going to be shortening episodes and focusing on one main segment each episode. We’ve got lots of games to talk about and many more segments planned, and we’re very excited to continue working to get you more episodes!

Meghan brought us Duck Detective: The Secret Salami, a cozy mystery game where you play a down-on-his-luck detective who happens to be a duck! Lina is sharing Thank Goodness You’re Here! An absurdly funny slap-former that drops you into the bizarre Northern English town of Barnsworth. And lastly, Shelby tells us about Hoa, a beautiful hand-painted puzzle-platforming game about a little forest spirit bringing life back into the slumbering woods after a battle against the devastating robot invasion.

We’re also sharing our guilty pleasure games, the games we probably should feel ashamed we play, but we don’t game shame here! Games like Choices, Kim Kardashian: Hollywood, Merge Mansion and more really scratch a certain itch for us mobile gamers. We love the game ads we get on TikTok, but we’re also talking about potential scams so watch out!

Do We Gotta Get the Switch 2? Let's Talk About It! Apr 17, 2025

Welcome to Gotta Game For You, where we always have a game lined up just for you!

In today’s episode, come join Meghan (@strawburry17), Lina (@linaamadrid), and Shelby (@shelbygraces) as they dive into the games we’ve been playing lately and we’re anticipating for 2025! As well as discuss our thoughts on the Nintendo Switch 2 announcement.

Meghan and Lina have both been racing to beat newly released Blue Prince, developed by Dogubomb, a game filled with a unique mix of mystery, strategy, and puzzles that weave together to create an unpredictable journey. Navigate through shifting corridors and ever-changing chambers in this strategy puzzle adventure and find out how many days it will take you to find the mysterious 46th room, and win the deed to the mansion!

Shelby shares her thoughts after just completing Ivy Road’s latest game, Wanderstop. This game has so many interesting characters and amazing dialogue and so much mystery as you find yourself stuck in the middle of a magical forest, working at a tea shop. The attention to detail is incredible, and every little moment is also somehow a major profound lesson for every player to take home.

We recently reacted to the Nintendo Switch 2 announcements, and we have some thoughts! We’re excited to see new games, new features and higher quality gaming! And we’ll have more information soon.

Lastly, we’re checking out each other’s wishlists, for the games we’re most excited to see come out later this year (we hope!). Games on our lists include Big Walk, Whisper of the House, MakeRoom, One Move Away, Petal Runner, Tiny Garden, Do No Harm, Squirreled Away, and Herdling.

In today’s episode, join Meghan (@strawburry17), Lina (@linaamadrid), and Shelby (@shelbygraces) as they dive into the games that made us!

We’re talking about the games that shaped who we are, starting with Shelby, who spent her formative years—and adulthood—playing RuneScape. RuneScape is an MMORPG that launched in 2001 and was a cultural experience you just had to be there for. Without it, Shelby might never have found herself in content creation.

Lina shares how her love for gaming began with her dad, playing Half-Life. Released in 1998, Half-Life is a first-person shooter developed by Valve that revolutionized the gaming industry and Lina’s personal life. It catapulted her into a world of immersion, unique interactions, and rich storytelling, which she shared with her dad while watching him play—until she stole the controller and beat the final boss herself!

Meghan reflects on growing up as a girl and not understanding why video games were considered "for boys." Defying expectations, she found that beating Super Mario World taught her she could do anything a boy could. Navigating through Dinosaur Land, riding Yoshi to save Princess Peach... only to discover she’s in another castle!

We’re also introducing a new segment, Spawn It or List It, where we describe a world, and you decide if you'd move into this video game landscape! Take your best guess at the games we're talking about before we reveal them!

March is Women’s Month, so we’re highlighting some incredible games created by women, including Birth, Child of Light, and Portal. Thank you to all the women whose contributions to the gaming industry bring beauty and brilliance to this creative space!

Welcome to Gotta Game For You, where we always have a game lined up just for you!

In today’s episode, come join Meghan (@strawburry17), Lina (@linaamadrid), and Shelby (@shelbygraces) as they dive into the games YOU told US we gotta play!

First, Shelby is talking about Alba: A Wildlife Adventure, a game about a young girl named Alba visiting her grandparents on their beautiful island enriched with so much interesting fauna. The nature preserve on the island is in danger and it’s up to Alba and her friend Inez to save it and the animals along with it! As you explore, you take photos of the different animals in their natural habitats and help clean up and fix parts of the island to help more of the exotic wildlife return!

Lina is walking us through her playthrough of Last Seen Online, a psychological horror escape room, based on early flash games. Explore an abandoned old computer to uncover the mystery of the disappearance of a girl from the early 90s. Sift through her files, solve puzzles, and discover the secrets of her last interactions to find out what happened to her.

Finally, Meghan is sharing with us Venba, a narrative cooking game that follows Venba, a South Indian woman who moves to Canada with her husband in the 1980s. The game explores their journey of settling down in a new country while also preserving their cultural heritage and passing it down to their son. Rebuild the old, damaged cookbook and truly learn new recipes as you navigate the family dynamics in this heartfelt story.

We Gotta Game For Your Wishlist Feb 14, 2025

Welcome to Gotta Game For You, where we always have a game lined up just for you!

It’s a new year full of tons of new games coming our way! Sit down with Meghan (@strawburry17), Lina (@linaamadrid), and Shelby (@shelbygraces) as they dive into the games they’re most excited to see come out this year!

Today we’re checking out trailers for Wanderstop, from the makers of Stanley Parable. This farming sim combines the cozy vibes of running a tea shop with dark secrets from the main character’s past. Mixtape, published by Annapurna, is about a group of high schoolers going on one last adventure together, playing through a mixtape of their memories. It is stacked with incredible hits from Smashing Pumpkins, Joydivision and more! And last but not least, Little Nightmares 3, the next installment in the eerie series by Supermassive Games. This time, you can play with a friend to solve puzzles and uncover more secrets of this nightmarish world.

We sat down with some developers and publishers at Raw Fury and got some exclusive looks at upcoming games! We talked with Paul Wilson, producer of Post Trauma, an immersive horror game following a retired train conductor who has a lot more to unpack from his past experiences than he realizes. We also spoke with Tonda Ros, creator of Blue Prince, a genre-defying strategy puzzle adventure where you navigate through shifting corridors and ever-changing chambers.

Then we’re jumping into our backlog and UNloading some of the games we’ve checked off our lists so far! Lina has finally tackled Indiana Jones And The Great Circle, where you meet new friends but also see many familiar faces, and must uncover the secrets of the Great Circle to defeat the enemies and save the world! Meghan has been playing Inscription, a card based game that is so much more than what it seems. Use deckbuilding to solve escape-room style puzzles in this psychological horror roguelike and dive deeper and deeper into the dark secrets of this game. And lastly, Shelby has finished playing Life Is Strange: Double Exposure, the direct sequel to the beloved game Life Is Strange but ten years later! Max has another mystery to solve and hopefully, with her new powers, has a second chance to save her friend. But it’s just not that simple…

We Gotta Game Of The Year For You Dec 26, 2024

Welcome to Gotta Game For You, where we always have a game lined up just for you!

It’s the end of the year and time to gather ‘round as Meghan (@strawburry17), Lina (@linaamadrid), and Shelby (@shelbygraces) share their top games of 2024 for mobile, PC, and console. Why so many? Because how can you choose just one?! There are way too many great games out there (well…to be fair, that got released this year…if we’re playing by the rules)..

First up: console games. Here, we’re talking about “Mario Party Jamboree,” a brand new edition of the classic Mario Party games we all know and love but with new mini games for you and up to seven friends. Next up: “Legend of Zelda: Echos of Wisdom.” This is a new story in the Nintendo franchise, and this time, it focuses on the young heroine and namesake, Zelda. Lastly, “Life is Strange: Double Exposure.” This one takes us back into Max’s world now that she’s all grown up and has developed her powers. This time, has a mystery to solve to hopefully save her best friend’s life.

Switching gears to PC games, we’ve got some doozies. We start with the old school classic, “Call of Duty.” It’s received new maps, updates, and features and the content just keeps on coming! We’re also STILL talking about how much we loved “Crypt Custodian,” an adorable metroidvania about making friends in the most unlikely of places. It has an insanely satisfying combat system and a secret that’s up to you to uncover. And finally, we’re talking about “Mika and the Witch’s Mountain,” a Ghibli inspired game about a little witch who must earn her place in this world by getting to work delivering packages for the colorful characters of Mont Gaan.

Last up, it’s time for our favorite mobile game! *drum roll, please*....actually, wait, it's just “Pokemon TCG Pocket.” It’s genuinely all we can talk about. This simplified version of the beloved card game has 20 card decks, making battles so quick and easy to understand. Plus, there’s new art featured exclusively for Pocket, including new interactive cards that take you into the art itself. Open up to two packs daily (for free) and we can hardly wait until we have trading!

That’s it, folks. Those are our top games of 2024 and what a year it’s been. It’s been such an incredible 2024 for games and we’re so excited to see what 2025 has to offer when it comes to exploring even more stories that will make us laugh, cry, and talk all about it on a future podcast episode.
