In this episode of the Good News Parenting Podcast, Casey and Caleb sit down with their wives, Hannah Withers and Tori Jones. This conversation tackles the topic of dating, and how to create healthy guardrails and guidelines so that you can maintain a strong relationship with your children and with the Lord as you navigate something that can be great, but can also create tension between family and friends if not handled carefully.
During the podcast, we mentioned 10 questions to ask to help gauge the health of your life and your relationship. Here they are below:
1) Is my relationship with Jesus the most important thing to me?
2) Is Jesus the most important relationship to the person I'm dating (with or without me)?
3) What does their relationship with Jesus look like?
4) Am I lowering God's standards to make this relationship work?
5) Will they make it easier or harder for me to love Jesus?
6) Do my friends or family notice any red flags?
7) Am I going above and beyond to honor my parents and their parents?
8) Have I asked for Godly input from someone older than me?
9) Am I displaying the Gospel through purity?
10) Am I surrendered to God's timing or trying to rush things?
*You will notice Hannah and Casey's son, Keller, making a few "appearances" on the pod as he was in and around the studio while we were recording.*
