The same way you feel when you're in human love,

but all of that directed at God.

not even conversation, here--

like when you're with someone real special,

and you can just sit with them in the silence,

and it doesn't feel awkward,

there's no struggle to think of something to say to fill the space,

'cause the space is so full,

Love is so full.

Nikki sits down with Vanamali Mataji of Rishikesh, India, while she is touring Europe. The scribe of nearly 20 books about God (from Sri Krishna to Hanuman to Shiva), Mataji starts with a powerful mantra and decree before sharing about the relationship between the apparent form and Formlessness, between Divine Ecstasy and quiet-Joy, and on living beyond time and storylines. She recommends practicing Yoga asanas daily to appear as she does- absolutely Radiant.

"You can't live in a state of ecstasy all the time because the world will pull you down. But, even though it may not be ecstatic, it's still so filled with joy, not happiness, but joy. Because everything you see is a form of Its Form, or Its Voice. The birdsong, the sunrise, the moonrise, everything is part of that enormous and amazing power that energizes the whole cosmos. Every bit. So you can't go anywhere. Can you ever run away from yourself? There is no place you can run to. So that it is everywhere. The ecstatic moments may not be always there. As I said, the world will pull you down. But that joy is always there. Underlying joy is always there. "She smiled and called me indoors, saying I was a stubborn child, and so I was. Before I sat, I proceeded to touch her feet, which normally she does not permit, but as I touched her feet, I was shocked to find my hands go through her bones and flesh to touch the floor. My body was electrified at that. I remembered that an Avatara is an illusion of light in the illusion of the world. It can at will, to increase a person's faith, make one experience his or her body of light. No flesh, no shadow, no karma... An Avataric Being is karma-less, when it does work in maya, it leaves no samskaras. It's like writing on water. When the un-liberated student does his daily chores or work, he creates karma. It's like writing on the sand. Uplifted and wonder-struck by this experience, I settled in a trance-like state and saw her radiance flooding the whole ashram and countryside. As my body elongated, my Consciousness left it to expand and merge in her wondrous aura. I was blessed, and when I opened my eyes, the surroundings were still radiant with Her Presence.

Nikki sits down with spiritual leader and philosopher (and one of her living teachers) Rupert Spira, to discuss the role of devotion and prayer on the non-dual path. He speaks about the difference between the knowledge, 'I Am' and the experience, 'I Am,' and the highest Truth that there is only God's Presence shining in us, as our experience as our Self. He then leads a deep meditation into the 'I Am,' reminding us, "All that is necessary is to sound the Divine Name, I Am, once, silently, within oneself." If you've been trying to access the Love beyond the mind, this is an episode that you should listen to twice. Each word is Presence. His words flow from The Word. And the Word is Grace.
