How to Stop Feeling Overwhelmed #GMweekends Jan 27, 2024

Show notes

God has sent (t)His Love

for us to follow

out of the illusion.

So don't let anything distract you from this Love.

Not yourself,

not your thoughts,

or anyone else.

Nothing is worth it.

Nothing, this No Thing, this Silence is worth it.

It's worth your attention.

It made you worthy.

It made you Holy.

It has given you a Purpose.

And right now It looks like whatever you are called to do 'today'.

The pressure is not on you,

the Presence is on you.*

Affirm: The Presence is on me, in me, for me.

And then just do it. Don't think about it. Just do it. Just watch It accomplish everything.

I Love you,
Nik

Today's Quotes:
"Pressure on you, Presence on me."
-Gabriel Lopez @gods.best.friend

"I have been asked many times, "How do you stop thinking?" And I have found one way. The minute I can look at any person or condition and know that it is neither good nor evil, my thought stops, and my mind becomes quiet. That is the end of it because then there are no thoughts left for me to think about it: I do not think good of it and I do not think evil of it. All I know is that it is, and then I am back at the center of my being where all power is."
-Joel S Goldsmith

"Unless you give up the idea that the world is real, then your mind will always be after it."
-Sri Ramana Maharshi

"The kingdom of the father is spread out upon the earth but people don't see it."
-The Gospel of Thomas

“It seemed as if Maharaj-ji was about to answer, but instead his eyes closed and he sat there completely still, completely silent. It felt like he'd totally disappeared. In all the time I'd been with him, I'd only seen him sitting motionless like this a couple of times before. It was extraordinarily powerful, as if the whole universe had become silent. Then a tear came down his cheek. We were in awe. After a couple of minutes, his eyes half opened and, with great emotion, he quietly said, 'He lost himself in love, that's how he meditated. He was one with all beings. He loved everyone, even the people who crucified him. He never died. He is the atman [soul]. He lives in the hearts of all. He lost himself in love."
-Krishna Das
"God is in me, God is with me. God is for me."
-@Sardinebread

After you see The Face, concerns change. Jan 26, 2024

Show notes

You stopped running.

I see you.

The world is swirling around you,

but you're still,

you're silent,

you're calm,

you're Home,

we're being Heaven on earth right now.

And our work is to continue to be that Heaven,

to continue to be (t)His Light,

His Face.

I see You everywhere.

And I love You.

And I bless You.

And I Am blessed by You.

"After you see the face, concerns change." - Rumi

"To love and be loved is to feel the sun from both sides."
- David Viscott

"The same way we are not created to rely on yesterday's food and water for today's physical nourishment, we cannot rely on yesterday's time spent in prayer and the word for today's spiritual nourishment. You must feast daily." - @faithfulfootprints via IG

"...Prayer is our primary duty. Prayer is the reason why God has placed us on earth.
- Pere Jacques

"See the face that was my home.
My loving says, I will let go of everything for that.
My soul begins to keep rhythm, as if music were playing.
Mv reason says, What do you call this cypress-energy that straightens what was bent double?
All things change in this presence.
Armenians and Turks no longer know which is which.
Soul keeps unfolding inward.
The body leaves the body.
A wealth you cannot imagine flows through you." - Rumi, The Big Red Book

"There is something here that is somehow a part of your calling, your mission in life. It's glorifying God in your unique way. It won't always be clear, but if you continue day after day to move according to His promptings, one day you'll look back, amazed at how God used you to be a light in this world. What are you passionate about?"- Sister Mary Scholastica, O.C.D.

"If you're looking for an escape today, run to Jesus.
And you will no longer find yourself escaping but resting."- Selah

Love is the glue that holds it all together. Don't become unglued. Jan 25, 2024

Show notes

"He is before all things,

and by Him all things hold together." -Colossians 1:17

Hold fast to (t)His Sound,

like it's His Feet,

like it's Her Throne.

Don't let go.

When you stay Here,

when you stay hearing this,

you can begin anything,

you can create everything.

That desire becomes not a desire,

but The Promise It originally was.

The Foretelling of what's here,

that can't yet be seen.

But I'm hearing It.

I'm feeling It.

I'm thanking God for It, for you.

Please stop pretending to worry.

"The stars come up spinning every night,
bewildered in love.
They would grow ired with that revolving if they weren't.

They would say, How long do we have to do this?
God picks up the reed-flute world and blows.
Each note is a need coming through one of us, a passion, a longing pain.
Remember the lips where the breath originated, and let your note be clear.
Do not try to end it.
Be your note.
I will show you how that is enough.
Go up on the roof at night in this city of the soul.
Let everyone climb on their roofs and sing their notes. Sing loud." - Rumi, The Big Red Book

You are neither absence nor existence.
I am blessed with faith and cursed with forgetfulness.
Clear, but streaked with mud.
Mature, growing older, and still a baby." Rumi, The Big Red Book

The next time you hear yourself chanting (y)our mantra,

know that you're living in the reality where only that mantra can be,

the only reality where it's being chanted.

The one where you're being of service,

the one where you have everything because you have God.

You are healing,

and you're healed.

You were before the wound.

And suddenly-- the dreams started chasing me. Jan 22, 2024

Show notes

You don't have to say 'no' to that (unwanted reality).

Just close those eyes and say 'yes' to This.

And when those eyes open again,

you're still saying 'yes' to This.

You're still hearing This,

feeling This.

And even though you're seeing the world,

God is in your eyes,

you have God's eyes, now.

And what do you see?

"Nothing here but God,"

as if in your night dream.

And because you know it's a dream,

because 'you' stopped,

You're Here.

That Dream is chasing you, now.

I am you,

Today's Quotes:

"One day Rumi arrives home. He sees his son upset and asks the reason. His son replies 'nothing--' and upon his response, Rumi goes outside. He takes a wolf skin that's hanging on the door and puts it on. He then raises his hands and starts howling, and when his son sees him, he begins to laugh. Rumi said, 'did you see son? This is how worldly trials are. The wolf is a scary animal, but you didn't get scared when your father was behind it, and you laughed. Just like that, know that your Lord is behind all your trials and trust Him.'"

Nothing was the same. Jan 19, 2024

Show notes

I Am taking your pain right now.

Your hurts,

I Am carving them out,

cutting them away,

pruning you.

Feel what's growing inside of you right now...

Like a New Garden in the winter,

a smile even though you're misperceiving Me as darkness,

as drought.

Open your eyes and look at The Field,

"because it is already ripe with the harvest."*

You see The Field as that familiar place.

The place you closed those eyes on.

And while it appears that nothing has changed,

you have to feel what The Field has produced (t)here,

what you can't see with those human eyes,

what I Am seeing for you.

I Am feeling It with you.

You must feel Love as you look out at what looks unchanged.

Nothing is the same.

Say that until you hear it differently.

Until you hear it rightly,

This No-Thing is the same

This Love is the same.

God is always the same

and knowing this,

celebrating this,

worshiping this,

nothing is the same.

nothing was the same.

"Now silence lets the one behind your eyes talk." Rumi, Red Book (Coleman Barks)

"ONLY ONE SUNRISE A DAY
You will not find another friend like me.
You spend your days in all directions.
No one accepts your money but me.
You are the dry ditch. I am rain.
You are the rubble of a building.
I am the architect.
There is only one sunrise a day.
In your sleep you see many shapes and people.
When you wake, you see nothing.
Close those eyes and open these eyes. Listen within your ear.
Speak without forming words.
Language turns against itself and is likely to cause injury." - Rumi, Red Book (Coleman Barks)

"I want to be where your bare foot walks, because maybe before you step, you will look at the ground. I want that blessing." - Rumi, Red Book (Coleman Barks)

If you become This, you will be that. Jan 18, 2024

Show notes

Notice that even with eyes open,

you can still sense the presence of the darkness behind closed eyes.

Even with these words present,

those thoughts present,

you can always sense this Silence.

When that body is anxious,

you can still sense this Rest,

this Joy in the background.

His Light is Everywhere.

It's at your office.

It's in the kitchen.

It's in the car,

in traffic, too.

It's at the store,

at the hospital,

in that waiting room.

Just sit (t)here.

Stand (t)here for a moment.

Eyes closed,

and feel, 'God is here, still.'

'God is greater, still.'

And you are That, You are!

A WELL-BAKED LOAF
"Forget the world, and so command the wild.
Be alamp, or a lifeboat, or a ladder
Help someone's soul heal
walk out of your house like a shepherd.
Stay in the spirit fire. Let it cook you.
Bea well-baked loaf and lord of the table Come and be served to your brothers.
You have been a source of pain
Now you will be the delight.
You have been an unsafe house.
Now you will be the one who sees into the invisible
I said this, and a voice came to my ear, If you become this, you will be that.
Then silence, and now more silence.
A mouth is not for talking.
A mouth is for tasting this sweetness." - Rumi

One of countless grains of sand
May we wake up in that land Woven in a single strand
Homage to the one whose face is like hundreds of full moons in the sky

Make me you, Make you me May we merge inseparably Make me you, Make you me May we merge inseparably
