    Good Bodies

Welcome to Good Bodies, a “wellness” entertainment podcast where all bodies are good bodies. If you’re still reeling from the toxic diet culture of the early 2000s (justice for Jessica Simpson) and constantly quoting your therapist, then Emily Lubin and Lauren Hope Krass are here to help you laugh (so you don’t cry). Diets can’t sit with us anymore but there’s a place at the table for body neutrality, body positivity, intuitive eating, and hot takes about which non-dairy creamer pairs best with our sharp cheddar cheese omelettes. For more Good Bodies content and the most relatable shit on the internet, follow us on Instagram at @everythingsfine.

Remy and Emily are back with a new episode of Diet Starts Tomorrow — and they’re diving into the whole “shedding for the wedding” thing. Or is it “shredding”? In any event, they sat down with Amanda Pargament (@healthbyamandarobyn), a recently-married certified integrative nutrition health coach, and Sharron Paul (@sharronicanyc), a hilarious comedian and wedding officiant who just got hitched herself. They talk about the pressure brides face in terms of body image, weight loss, and even family dynamics—I mean, why did so many moms “weigh 100 pounds on their wedding day” after all? Of course, they have a lot to say about finding a dress you feel comfortable in no matter what, and why ultimately, fad diets just aren’t on the guest list.

I Can’t Freeze My Eggs Because Of My BMI Jul 06, 2023
    Show notes

In today’s episode, Remy and Emily do a “Dear DST” from a listener interested in freezing her eggs. She meets all of the requirements to do so, except one—yup, you guessed it—her BMI. At her height and weight, she is considered “unhealthy” and unfit to donate her eggs, despite them not asking any other questions about her physical activity levels, nutrition, or lifestyle. Remy and Emily dissect this frustrating situation, and talk about how BMI doesn’t actually determine your health. They then move on to talk about how they’ve been ~feeling themselves~ and why looking “like a wet rat” can actually do wonders for your hair. They wrap up by asking the age old question: Is maturity not laying around in your own filth?
