Step 1: FIND HUMILITY
Stop putting your expectations on people.
Stop assuming people owe you anything.
We are all broken and will fall short of any expectation put upon us.
Step 2: REMOVE YOUR ARMOR
Your armor consists of things that offend you and stop you from loving your brother or sister. Wearing this armor no longer allows you to walk in love, but permits you to live for yourself. Should someone's beliefs or actions run contrary to the love of Jesus, your spirit should sound an alarm for this person. It should lead you to prayer and a need to intercede for this person- not contempt.
Step 3: DIE TO SELF
Do not empower the victim mindset in yourself or others when you are wronged. It allows people to see others only through their wrongs and that produces pride.
Step 4: FORGIVENESS
Unforgiveness creates bitterness and does not permit healing. The Bible preaches transformation, like Stephen's. He could have called fire down upon those stoning him, but instead, he interceded to request mercy on their behalf.
Step 5: LEARN HOW TO PRAY
Stop complaining to God through prayer. It is selfish and hardens the heart toward that person or situation. Prayer exists for edification. This allows you to apply truths in every area of your life, especially prayer.
DON’T:
God, I don't know how we are going to pay the rent this month, so I pray that you handle that. My boss is a jerk, help him see how I benefit the organization
God, I know you see all these things in my life and you're working. I trust you.
I don't know how this will work out but I am choosing by faith that you will provide.=
Step 6: ACTIVELY SEEK GOD
You decide if God molds your heart or if the world does. Jesus sought the Lord by waking up before the sun arose to spend alone time with God. Your life feels out of control when your eve is not on Jesus.
