Don't sleep on the Saints (and Jameis Winston) in the NFC South Aug 17, 2021

Show notes

Go Long continues it's division-by-division preview with a look at the NFC South. Nick Underhill, the founder of New Orleans.Football joins the guys to break down everything at quarterback, the latest with Michael Thomas and what Sean Payton's possibly thinking into this 2021 season.
He's seen Jameis Winston and Taysom Hill every day and has some thoughts. Crazy as it sounds, yes, there's a chance the Saints can actually upgrade at the most important position in sports post-Brees.
Just how important is Thomas to this team, too?

It's a Josh Allen World in the AFC East Aug 12, 2021

Show notes

Everyone's chasing Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills in the AFC East. It's been a long, long time since the standard in this division was Buffalo but that's clearly the case now.
What's next for Allen after signing his historic contract? Can the Bills get over that KC hump? Did Bill Belichick do enough to challenge the Bills in 2021?
We chat with The Athletic's Matthew Fairburn... and former Bills exec Jim Monos has plenty to say, too.

There will be blood in the NFC West Aug 06, 2021

Show notes

We continue our whip around the league with the NFC West. Former NFL scout John Middlekauff, the host of the 3&Out Podcast who covers the 49ers daily, joins us.
Is it Trey Lance Time in San Francisco? Middlekauff breaks down what he's seen in camp. He also talks Kyle Shanahan and the state of a team balancing Super Bowl hopes with a rookie QB.
This may be the best division in football. You can absolutely count on the 49ers, Rams and Seahawks all doing everything in their power to physically punish the opposition.

The Aaron Rodgers Saga is over (or is it?) Jul 27, 2021

Show notes

Well, that was fun.
After an unprecedented offseason of passive-aggressive shot from afar and making it clear that he didn't want to be a Packer... Aaron Rodgers is a Packer? Yes. For 2021, anyways. On this episode, we debate and discuss how the Packers did everything they could to convince Rodgers to play for one more season. Rather than accept their bounty of picks and players, they'll give this a Last Dance-like shot for one more season. Chances are, bad blood will linger, though.

Football nearly killed Chris Simms (we talk QBs, too) Jul 22, 2021

Show notes

Most all know Chris Simms today as the sharp, opinionated analyst for NBC Sports. He certainly does not succumb to groupthink when it comes to breaking the game down today. On this episode, he certainly digs into his QB Rankings and why he loves Josh Allen. He also may disagree with us a bit when it comes to the Packers/Rodgers standoff and Simms isn't shy critiquing the QB one of his best friends, Kyle Shanahan, drafted No. 3 overall.
But what most people may not know? Simms suffered a life-threatening injury as a player. With the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, he took a hit that could've ended his life. Simms relives the scary ordeal, start to finish, and also remembers Vince Wilfork drilling him below the belt the year prior.

Quincy Avery talks Jordan Love, Deshaun Watson, QB play today on the Happy Hour Jul 20, 2021

Show notes

Not too long ago, Quincy Avery was living out of his car and sending Facebook messages to any quarterbacks that'd listen.
Now, he's coaching more pros than anybody else in his profession. What a fascinating chat this was with the man who has helped mold Deshaun Watson into one of the best QBs today, in addition to grooming Justin Fields, Trey Lance and Jalen Hurts. Also, Avery is fresh off of working out Packers QB Jordan Love so you know we had to get his perspective on Green Bay's quarterback situation. (His prediction may surprise you, too.)
Also, is Watson going to play this season. He has a prediction here as well.
