Our CVS Skin Care Haul: Drugstore Products For $30 or Less Mar 24, 2020

It’s no secret we love prestige brands, like a fancy serum or decadent créme, but we also believe good skin care doesn’t mean spending hundreds of dollars. Our personal philosophy is you should only buy what you need. If something is working for you, keep doing it! You don’t need every product you see posted about on instagram, websites, and yes, even Gloss Angeles. But if you are shopping to update your regimen, you don't need to dole out a ton of cash to get an efficacious product. It's a beauty editor kiki! Zoë Foster Blake is one of Australia’s most celebrated beauty experts. But before she became a beauty brand founder, she was just like us — a beauty editor! Zoe was the beauty director of Cosmopolitan and Harper’s BAZAAR Australia. She then went on to write a few books, including Amazing Face, a best-selling beauty bible, and then decided to start her own beauty blog back in 2006. After years of reviewing and using every kind of skin care product on the face of the earth, Zoë decided to take a stab at creating her own. She wanted to make something that was simple, stress-free, and more about self-love than “fixing” stuff. Thus Go-To Skin Care was born.

Sasha Plavsic is the founder of ILIA Beauty, a prestige line of natural and organic beauty products that combine superior color performance and nourishing organics based in Laguna Beach. Before Sasha started the company, she had years of branding experience helping beauty and wellness companies, including Urban Decay and Saje Natural Wellness. So when she discovered that there wasn’t any existing clean beauty products that were not packaged in bamboo, she found herself with a goal in mind (and the experience to back it up): create a tinted lip balm that was luxurious and didn’t contain any nasty ingredients.
