Emily West May 31, 2017

Show notes

Emily West! This girl is a STAR! She has had an amazing journey. Moved to Nashville, got a record deal on Capitol Records (I interned at Capitol when she was signed there, and have been a huge fan of her for years!), sang a DUET w Keith Urban ("Blue Sky"- talk about powerful song and performance!), then moved to NYC on a whim- she went for a weekend trip then didn't come back for a year or so, entered "America's Got Talent," and got 2nd Place (what!), basically 1st place as far as singing, bc a magician beat her... So in my mind, she won for sure. Emily's voice is other worldly. She is in a league of her own. One of the best voices of our generation.... She belongs in the company of Barbara Streisand, Cher, Bette Midler and Judy Garland. #podcast #nashville #hypercarolinehobby #emilywest #carolinehobby

The Sisterhood May 24, 2017

Show notes

The Sisterhood! I'm obsessed. I'm not sure how you get cooler, more talented or more beautiful than Alyssa Bonagura and Ruby Stewart. These 2 belong from another era, like the 70's with Stevie Nicks and Cher... But they bring a modern twist to their music and vibe. What they have is magic, and can't quite be defined. Both ladies grew up on the road with traveling musician parents. Ruby is from Rock N Roll Royalty; her dad is Rod Stewart. When they are together it feels like electricity is in the room, you just want to be around it. Hearing about their upbringing both living on the road, finding their own way musically and then joining together by a random stroke of luck in LA, confirms these 2 gals were always destined to be together, make music, and change the world. They even have opposite matching missing front teeth. #carolinehobby #thesisterhood #nashville #podcast #rodstewart #rubystewart #alyssabonagura

Jimmy is a rockstar- I'm not kidding- he had a huge pop hit "Where Are You Now," before becoming EVP of the entire Big Machine Label Group as well as being President of BMLG Records (which is one of the 5 labels in the Big Machine Label Group). His story is amazing. He started as an artist, and over time switched to the business side of the music industry where he has broken acts like Luke Bryan, Eric Church, Darius Rucker and most recently A Thousand Horses and Brett Young. We talk all about what goes into picking a single, signing an artist, and the power of radio. Marcus Hummon Mar 15, 2017

Show notes

Marcus Hummon! This man is one of the most interesting guys I know. He's truly is a citizen of the world, growing up in Italy, Africa, and the Philippines to name a few. He got a record deal in 1986 and then shortly after started getting cuts with some of the biggest artists in Country Music at the time including Wynonna "Only Love," Alabama "Cheap Seats," and has only continued to have smash hits with Tim McGraw's "One of These Days," and Sara Evan's huge breakout hit "Born To Fly." He then linked up with the Dixie Chicks and cowrote my FAV song ever "Cowboy Take Me Away," and "Ready To Run." In 2005, Marcus won a Grammy for Best Country Song with his Rascal Flatts hit "God Bless The Broken Road." This man has TALENT FOR DAYS. He is also married to Becca Stevens, an Episcopal Priest, who launched the incredible Thistle Farms which is "a sanctuary for healing for women survivors of abuse, addiction, trafficking, and prostitution." Marcus and his wife truly are helping to heal the world. #nashville #podcast #carolinehobby #marcushummon #songwriter #hitsongwriter #thistlefarms

Brittany Aldean Mar 08, 2017

Show notes

Brittany Williams! I love this girl. And yes, she is even more gorgeous on the inside than she is on the outside which is almost impossible to believe! I got to know Britt last year when A Thousand Horses toured with her hubby Jason Aldean, and it was instant love for me. She is a makeup guru, she has pop-up classes all over the country helping teach women beauty secrets to make them feel beautiful and empowered. Brittany loves helping women feel good about themselves. Her YouTube page is full of all sorts of makeup tutorials from everyday looks to super intense awesome Halloween looks. She also may as well be St. Francis because this gorgeous creature is going to save all the animals. #nashville #podcast #carolinehobby #jasonaldean #youtube

Ali Ryan! This chick styles/cuts/colors ALL the stars; I'm talking FGL and their wives, Thomas Rhett and his wife Lauren, Jason Aldean and his wife Brittany, Dan and Shay and their fiancés, Miranda Lambert, Kasey Musgraves, Kelsea Ballerini, Michael Ray, Jake Owen, just to name a few. Maggie Rose Feb 22, 2017

Show notes

MAGGIE ROSE! This chick is fire! Back when she was in High School the label executive legend Tommy Mottola realized her talent and helped her score a record deal. She has been making music and making waves ever since. She released a new EP "The Variety Show" last year and it showed us even more what she is capable of as an artist and how talented she is- "Same Sky" is my JAM off that EP. She also has been named one of CMT's Next Women of Country and just got a song cut by Lady Gaga! And to top it off, her heart is just as big as her talent. #podcast #nashville #CMT #maggierose #carolinehobby #ladygaga
