It’s very nerve racking for me to have real conversations about race as a white woman with two of my black friends. To be honest, I have avoided topics of race my whole life bc I’m scared I will say something wrong. But the point is to start talking and to be a part of the change. Amara and Mickey talk about being black females in the country music industry, how much love they have for this community, and their dreams for genre. Mickey explains the story behind her powerful new single “Black Like Me.”

I got to know Britt last year when A Thousand Horses toured with her hubby Jason Aldean, and it was instant love for me. She is a makeup guru, she has pop-up classes all over the country helping teach women beauty secrets to make them feel beautiful and empowered. Brittany loves helping women feel good about themselves. Her YouTube page is full of all sorts of makeup tutorials from everyday looks to super intense awesome Halloween looks. When you see Katelyn Brown, you can’t help but stare. She’s drop dead gorgeous. Then you get to know her, and realize she has the sweetest, most playful spirit. It was so fascinating to learn about her musical past. When she was 18, she linked up with Justin Timberlake’s manager and moved to his musical compound in Orlando FL that he created for all of his artists and boy bands to live and develop their talents. At the compound there were recording studios, rehearsal rooms and basically anything you need as an artist at your beck and call. Katelyn lived here for years. During this time she started working with a producer out of Atlanta that was also working with a new young artist, Kane Brown. Katelyn met Kane serendipitously when she was shooting a music video and did not feel chemistry with the actor cast for her love interest. Her manger quickly thought of Kane to take the role, and from that moment on, sparks were flying between the two. In this episode we talk all about their enchanting wedding, how she’s overcoming her fear of flying, instagram dance battles with Kane, and life at home and on the road. Stevie is everybody’s best friend. Or at least everybody wants to be her best friend. Her smile and laugh are infectious. Then she drops her sense of humor and good time on you, and you can’t be anything short of glamoured by her spirit. Stevie talks to me openly about how life has been amazing and awful at the same time. While in the middle of battling breast cancer, her husband won songwriter of the year. While feeling her worst, she and her husband’s publishing company, Rhythm House (under Jay-Z’s Entertainment Company), started thriving and bringing in multiple #1 hits. Stevie also goes into vivid detail about the time she met Beyoncé at the company Christmas party and talked to her after multiple tequilas... they basically are best friends now lol! What I love about Stevie is her honesty and humor about life. She knows how to take things in stride. She’s not scared of dealing with the truth. She also knows how to really have fun and enjoy life no matter what season or struggle she may be facing, she finds the laughter and light!

Rachel has grown up in the public eye. Her dad is Football Icon and Legend Terry Bradshaw. I’ve known Rachel for over a decade; we met when we were in our early 20’s, both of us aspiring singer/songwriters in Nashville. Rachel found instant and early success. She landed a publishing deal and had a hit song w Jerrod Neimann “What do you Want,” immediately when she moved to town. Rachel tells me all about this time in her life and how exciting and easy everything felt. Then her life came crashing down. She had fallen madly and wildly in love with Titans football star Rob Bironas. They were one of the “it” couples in Nashville. They got married and started what seemed a perfect life. Then he tragically died in a car accident. Rachel goes into detail about how her life fell apart. She moved to Texas to get back to the basics with her family and heal. She went into intensive therapy for several years and dug into all the pain she was feeling and carrying around. Rachel talks to me about what she learned and why doing the hard work is so important if you truly want to heal. In the midst of all of this personal work on herself and time with her family, The Bradshaw’s were offered a Reality TV Show on E! Rachel originally did not want to do the show bc she did not want to dive back into the limelight and fame life again after working so hard to heal. But she explains why this show has blessed her life and family, and how she hopes to inspire others with her story.

Brittney Kelley is the definition of how love, light, dreams and positivity can can turn the darkest times into inspiration, drive and a thriving life and marriage. At 17 years old, Brittney suffered great loss with the murder of her grandmother who raised her. She was forced to grow up and learn how to be resilient and self motived at a very young age. She surrounded herself with people who lifted and pushed her to never settle for less than she was worth. In college she was on the fast track to becoming an accountant (she got all A's), when she felt a calling to switch to psychology and truly dive into understanding people and sharing her story. Brittney has always had the confidence to follow where her heart guides her, even if it's scary. That led to her opening an Etsy's jewelry store from her one bedroom apartment where she would take old, broken jewelry and twist it around into something new and spectacular. Brittney met and married Brian from Florida Georgia Line when she was finishing up at the University of Georgia and went straight from college to the tour bus. On the road, she and Brian combined their creative juices and launched a clothing/lifestyle brand, Tribe Kelley. They now have two beautiful storefronts: one in Nashville and one in 30A FL. Brittney and Brian are hands on every part of their company. They take pride in the quality of their products and that they are American Made. Brittney and Brian also take pride in their marriage and showing that marriage is sexy and cool. FGL has never been shy to put their wives in the spotlight and show that you can be a rockstar and love your wife at the same time. Get ready to be beyond inspired with this episode.

What really stood out to me in this interview was that Julie is never afraid of being told “no.” She tells me all sorts of amazing stories of how her hustle, determination and belief in herself are what really made opportunities come to life for her, including how she landed an in person interview with George W. Bush in the White House during his final weeks in office. She walks me through how she handles her nerves and trusts her instincts and why she isn’t afraid to let herself feel the stories she covers, but also how she uses her platform to help the community she serves. We also talk about how motherhood has redefined what success really looks like and how she finds balance with so many plates in the air.

This beauty just had a birthday and turned 25, so everybody send her a happy birthday message! Lex is young and wise. She follows her gut instinct and intuition. She isn’t scared to take big, scary leaps for life and love. Lex and Jimmie were set up to meet at his show from mutual friends. Lex is a nurse and came straight from work in her scrubs, naturally beautiful and confident without even trying. It was pretty immediate sparks for them. The first car trip they took, Jimmie leaned over and kissed her at a stoplight. Their instant chemistry gives Simon and Daphne from Bridgerton a run for their money. The next show he invited Lex to, he changed the words to his song to say “kissing at a stoplight,” then he walked through the crowd and laid one on Lex. I love their love story. It’s full of passion and willingness to dive all in. Lex shares with me what she’s learned from being a mama, how life has changed in so many ways the past year, the lessons learned from being a Nurse and handling life and death plus the rocket ship ride of Jimmie’s fame. Lex is so down to earth and relatable while being a total smoke-show sweet heart.
