Presidents Cup Hero Max Homa Returns! Sep 28, 2022

Show notes

It is always a good day when Max Homa returns to the Get a Grip podcast. Max and Shane discuss the Presidents Cup, the perfectly executed post-birdie celebration on Friday, and plenty more from an epic week (and epic Max performance) at Quail Hollow. They then rehash that wild finish at the Fortinet Championship as Max picked up his fifth PGA Tour win and discuss the coolest moment of his time at the Open Championship playing alongside Tiger Woods.

They end the podcast with Max asking Shane a couple of dad questions as the Homa's are a month away from becoming parents (well, human parents ... can't forget Scotty). A big thanks to Max for the time!

Also, Shane mentioned off the top that his children's golf book, The Golfer's Zoo, is now available for pre-order. If you're interested, check it out at www.back9press.com/bacon

Caddy Tales from St. Andrews Jul 11, 2022

With the Open returning to the Old Course, it made perfect sense to bring back an old Clubhouse episode that Shane published in 2020 with his good friend Will Froelich. Will and Shane, after college at the University of Arizona, headed to Scotland with hopes of getting a job caddying for the summer. A day later and after a quick meeting with the man in charge of loops and both Will and Shane found themselves carrying bags on the most famous golf course in the world. Relive old stories, laugh at how Will got the nickname Rubles and enjoy an experience that these two will never forget.

You might not know the name Roger Sali, but after this episode, you most definitely won't forget it. Roger lives in Uganda and took to caddying when his father passed away and the family needed extra income. Starting in 2020, Roger fell desperately in love with the game and wanted to share it with as many people as possible, so Roger has been going to schools and areas of Africa to share the sport with whoever will listen. It's an incredible story from an amazing person who you should be following on Instagram at @saligolfs.
