    in recent years, the republican party has faced an ideological shift that has highlighted the divide within the party. this, in turn, has deterred more young people from getting involved in republican politics.

    only nine states and the district of columbia require a year-long course in civics education. because of this, as well as other factors, younger generations are disproportionately uneducated and disconnected from understanding their government and politics. this disconnection has fueled poor civil discourse and contributes to many of the issues that the nation currently faces. mike and ryan discuss this issue with anecdotal evidence from their past and the need for immediate action on civic education.
