May has entered the chat… and she did *not* come quietly. Suddenly our calendars are bursting with recitals, field days, teacher gifts, graduations, and don’t forget Mother’s Day (which, let’s be honest, sometimes feels more like a group project than a day off). It’s beautiful—but also *a lot*.

So here’s your friendly reminder, mom: you don’t have to do it all. You don’t have to make five Pinterest-perfect gifts, show up to every event camera-ready, or celebrate on the exact “right” day. Sometimes the best gift is coffee in bed and quiet. Sometimes it’s Chick-fil-A and calling it a celebration. And sometimes it’s just surviving the week without crying in the school parking lot (we’ve been there).

God’s not asking you to do May perfectly—He’s inviting you to walk through it with Him. One day at a time. With grace for yourself, patience for your people, and eyes open to the small sacred moments hidden in the mayhem.

So let’s flip the script. Let’s make May less about measuring up, and more about showing up—with presence, peace, and a little holy perspective. You’ve got this, because He’s got you. And if all else fails? Call it *May-gical* and go take a nap.

EP 178: With Other Moms: Fix Your Face Mar 03, 2025

Crunchy, silky, scrunchy…who came up with these names!? There are all types of moms and we are talking about all the mom stereotypes in this episode and how they can be helpful and hurtful. Whether you’re a Type A mom, a Type B Mom, or something totally different, you are the mom God created for the kids you have. You don’t need to try and copy what another mom is doing or compare yourself to her. Just like we see with Leah and Rachel from the Bible, moms in competition cause pain and division. But just like Mary and Elizabeth, moms can also create unity and encouragement when we cheer each other on.

Let’s commit to not giving anymore unsolicited advice. Let’s also be slower to judge and quicker to cheer other moms on! We are all in this together. When one of us gets better, we all do.

Because here’s the truth: Everything we have is already His. And when we truly believe that, we can stop gripping our finances with fear and start handling them with wisdom, trust, and even peace.

In this episode, we’re getting real about financial struggles, learning to let go of comparison, and shifting our mindset from *scarcity* to *stewardship*. We question our reflection, chase the latest beauty trends, and somehow believe that if we just find the *right* skincare routine, the *right* outfit, or the *right* workout, we’ll finally feel good about ourselves. But here’s the truth: no amount of contouring or curated Instagram feeds can fill the void that only God can.

So, what if we shifted our focus? What if, instead of striving for worldly perfection, we fixed our eyes on Jesus? What if our beauty goal wasn’t anti-aging but *reflecting Christ*? Moms, we’re challenging each other to stop taking beauty cues from the world and start looking to the One who created us. Let’s talk about what it really means to behold Him and let His reflection shine through us.

From the very beginning, shame about our bodies wasn’t part of God’s design. But thanks to sin and, let’s be honest, a whole lot of media influence, we’ve been fighting that battle ever since. Married mamas, our husbands need our time, talk, and touch. Our kids can be so persistent with getting what they want and need from us that by the time we get a moment with our husbands, we may feel talked and touched out. There are small, intentional choices we can make to prioritize our husbands.

One thing we can do right away: FIX OUR FACE when we first see him after a long day. A quick hug and an intentional moment of joy in your face when you see him can be game changing. We know marriage is challenging and we are not trying to sugarcoat any unhealthy issues in this episode. If your marriage is struggling, please reach out for help.

Gather Groups are a great way to find mom community and to share with other women where you need help. You may be shocked to learn how many other people have experienced or are experiencing what you’re going through. Knowing we are not alone is powerful and disarms the shame so we can stop hiding and start getting the help we need.

Have you ever had to say to your kids, “FIX YOUR FACE?” Sometimes, we need to say it to ourselves, too! We see and hear wild things as moms and we often have to fix our faces. In this episode, Jenny, Kate, and Rebecca share who has the worst poker face and why it’s important to fix our faces when our kids say things that shock us.

We also need to know WHERE our faces are fixed when we face the daily battles of motherhood. We’re deep diving into the story of Jehoshaphat in 2 Chronicles 20 to get a battle plan together for where we fix our face in the challenges of motherhood.
