Great to get to know one of the newest comics to hit the scene in 2019, Trevor Austin. He’s been working a ton since I first met him at his favorite mic, Parkway Theater, early this year. With a boundary pushing attitude of playing with the line, he’s gotten a lot of early gigs, including today’s finals of the Improv’s King of the Spring Contest. We discuss the strategy of the first two rounds, his time in California, and the importance of gratitude. Enjoy the podcast and go see some local comedy this weekend.

Dan Getkin the local Pittsburgh musician is in the studio today. Dan Getkin fronts a rocking alternative-country band, Dan Getkin and the Twelve Six along with Bill Brandt, Alex Herd, Eddan Sparks, and Jake Troxell. Despite what you may have surmised, only five individuals make-up Dan Getkin and the Twelve Six, an alt-country outfit from the Steel City, named for a type of curveball that can buckle a man at the knees. The band careens from full-tilt rock anthems to delicate narrative-driven balladry and back around.

We are venturing away from comedy to talk with our guests this week. We tackle the subject of diet and exercise with Andrew Wade & Jeremiah Rowe.

In late 2017 I started seeing Andrew Wade regularly to discuss some of the dietary choices and lack of exercise that had overtaken my life. He was a tremendous help and with a few life changes, positive results followed. Enjoy.

I loved catching up with Zach Funk ahead of the taping of his album Brains Are Weird, which you can check out at The Funhouse at Mr. Smalls on April 12 at 8:30pm. In addition to talking about prepping for the recording, we dig into two of our shared favorite spring traditions, baseball season and WrestleMania.

Zach is one of the most genuine and caring human beings I’ve been lucky enough to work alongside and I’m truly lucky to call him my friend. Enjoy our conversation and check out his hilarious stand up when he tapes his specials with podcast alums Krish Mohan and Helen Wildy.

I was joined on the mic for a fun chat with Diego Alfonso, Kevin Budkey, Dario Durham & Eric Fretty. We recap their Just Some Regulars Tour, the recent month long Second City Show called Topic Thunder, the weekly showcase Rising Laughter, and shooting and creating Justice Mathers for The Second City’s Harold Ramis Film School.

After a successful weekend watching our beloved Dayton Flyers basketball team finish the regular season with a win against Duquesne, I had one of my closest friends and former Baltimore roommate, Sean McCormick, interview me for Episode 150.

On this milestone episode and 25% through my 30,s, I sat down as the guest on my own show for the second time ever (Episode 19, which took place on the final day of my 20s). Sean and I discuss my comedy and podcast career, influences and experiences since we first met at the University of Dayton over a decade ago.

As always, it’s nice to take a moment during these milestone weeks to thank everyone that’s been part of the show’s history as both guests and subscribers. I love the chance to do this show each week and I’m thankful to you for your ears and I’ll continue to strive to improve each week and share more great conversations with new and old friends every week.
