This is Jennifer’s 2nd appearance of the Adam Carolla era, the episode has an immediate tonal shift than normal shows, and Adam asks her if there is anything she wants to say, oddly hinting about the suspected crush. It’s Jennifer’s birthday and Adam rants about Sheet cake and his traditional Birthday pies that get demolished each year, they discuss the mass suicide involving the “Heaven’s Gate” cult that took place the day before.

Adam mocks Drew for his good radio because he was nodding his head and says they need a camera in the studio. Drew says he’s been requesting one for years, Adam mocks Westwood One for the chair height and talks about the band being from Florida, Adam and Drew tell them about returning from “Panama City” and compliment them for their waffles, saying they have a waffle food group in that state.

Henry would return to the show with 6 more known appearances of the Adam Carolla era, 1 visit in 1998, 1 in 1999, 1 in 2000, 2 in 2001 and his final visit in 2002. Most likely we will find more of his episodes in the archive. An Unrelated side note the bogus “Mason Jar” calls seem to begin around this time, our earliest confirmed call is from May of 1997, so be on the lookout for an episode where Adam says the phrase

This episode is 100% complete. Blur were last on the show in 1996 for #89 Blur- 01/31/1996 Classic Loveline. This is a Great old show, I didn’t think we’d ever recover. You know it’s old when Adam fires up the reverb to yell at caller Adrian from the future. There is a reference to the horrible 1996 Dunblane massacre that happened in a primary school in Ireland. This turns into Adam telling Drew his marijuana facts are propaganda. Drew then argues it is just what he observes on a daily basis at work. Adam predicts when Drew is on his deathbed he will wish he had done crack at some point during his life. 27

Mark is making his debut of the Adam Carolla era, promoting the show “Born Into Exile” a TV movie of the week, Mark has one other known appearance of the Adam Carolla era from 08/16/1998 on CLL #751, we do have a fan file of that episode and there should be an official tape as well. Drew explains that Mark has a long history with Loveline, Drew says he started guesting about 6-8 years ago and he knows him well. Drew reveals he learned over the weekend that Adam’s sister was a “teenage runaway” as they discuss the theme of Mark’s TV movie.

Kari Wuhrer, promoting Sliders on Sci-Fi Channel, Kari has a long history with guesting on Loveline, her first known appearance was in 1992, where/when the “cohost of the era” wanted to play “Strip Loveline” and after Kari didn’t get nude he got fully nude and slapped his genitals on the table, we have audio of this. Kari would return to the show in 1999 and 2000, however there may be more lost episodes in the archive.
