What a humbling experience.
Normally, when someone says an experience is "humbling" they don't really mean it. They say it in the context of recieving an award or other accolade, an experience that is quite literally the opposite of humbling.
In this case however, I'm using the word humbling in its truest sense. Dr. Michael Wiest is a professor of neuroscience at Welleslly College and a proponent of the orchestrated objective reduction theory of consciousness. Perhaps a better way of putting it, he is a proponent of empiricism, and his empiricism has led him to conclude Orch OR is the best theory to explain our experience as conscious agents.

STABBED THROUGH THE HEART—THEN HE MET JESUS FACE-TO-FACE
Pastor Rod Parker was stabbed through the heart and lung, rushed to Parkland Hospital without a heartbeat, and pronounced clinically dead. As doctors fought to revive him, Rod says his spirit hovered above his body—and then he came face-to-face with Jesus Christ. Jesus told him: “Son, you’ve been running from Me.” Rod describes watching a supernatural slideshow of his life, confronting the darkness of his addiction, promiscuity, violence, and rebellion. He says Jesus then showed him the terrifying destination toward which his life was headed—but also offered him mercy, hope, and another chance: “If you’ll run to Me harder than you’ve been running from Me, I’ll let you live.”
