This week we learned that a sailor went overboard from the USS Abraham Lincoln — and the more you learn about conditions on that ship, the more this feels less like a warning. Over 200 days at sea. Moldy showers. Contaminated water. Rationed food. This is the United States Navy, and sailors are living in conditions that would get a landlord shut down.

Then — pop the champagne, light the candles, do whatever it is you do to celebrate — Karoline Leavitt is stepping down as White House Press Secretary. We are not crying. We are not NOT crying. We're just going to sit with our feelings for a moment and then talk about it for twenty minutes, because we contain multitudes.

Then we're in San Francisco, where a dad got stopped by park rangers for the crime of... teaching his own kids how to hit a tennis ball. On a public court. That he paid taxes for. We unpack what "public" apparently means now and to whom.

Baby, we asked for diplomacy, not a cage match. Five IRG ballistic missiles hit a U.S. base in Jordan, and instead of steady leadership, Trump is out here giving us Dollar Store Macho Man energy.

Meanwhile, the Senate Homeland Security Committee decided their full‑time job is berating and harassing Dr. Fauci. Not oversight. Just straight-up “Let’s bully the scientist because we need people to stop talking about the war, the economy and Trump stealing from us all.”

Trump also asked the Supreme Court to overturn the $83.3 million defamation judgment against him for defaming writer E. Jean Carroll. Because apparently the only thing he hates more than accountability is math.

Then James Comey stepped up and asked a federal judge to dismiss the Justice Department’s “Seashells” case, calling it vindictive and selective prosecution driven by Trump. We unpack the legal mess, the political mess, and the mess-mess.

And speaking of mess, 73% of Americans say Trump isn’t paying enough attention to the country’s most important problems. We’re not saying the number is shocking, but we are saying it’s giving “the call is coming from inside the house.”

Arizona Republicans said, “You know what would really stabilize democracy? Let’s put three 2020 election deniers in charge of certifying the next presidential election.” Baby, that’s not oversight — that’s letting the fox run the DMV.

Meanwhile, the House passed a temporary funding bill to avoid a shutdown, which is Congress’s version of hitting the snooze button on a national crisis. And then House Republicans turned around and passed a $1.15 trillion defense policy bill like they were ordering off the Cheesecake Factory menu.

Trump threatened to “bomb or destroy ONE BRIDGE OR POWER PLANT” for every ship Iran attacked in the Strait of Hormuz — because nothing says ‘measured foreign policy’ like spinning a giant wheel of American infrastructure and blowing up whatever it lands on.

Then he threatened a 100% tariff on imported generic drugs unless manufacturers build plants in the U.S. Because nothing says “healthcare strategy” like making antibiotics cost the same as a used Honda.

Also — measles is back. 2,295 cases so far in 2026. It's almost like putting the worst Kennedy in charge of our health was a bad idea.

And 37% of AGA voters say the Iran war is worth the economic cost, which is a bold stance for people who definitely complained about the price of eggs.

Then we take you inside the largest immigrant detention facilities in the country — from New Jersey to Texas — where people who have committed no crimes are being held in conditions that are illegal, immoral, and straight‑up evil. We’re talking about Delaney Hall and Dilley, where “Free Them All” isn’t a slogan, it’s a survival strategy. Because if you can’t tell the difference between a detention center and a prison, baby, that’s not an accident — that’s a policy.

And finally, we turn to the heartbreaking, infuriating pattern of suspicious and disputed deaths of young African‑Americans across the United States. Then ACE director Tom Homan announced that ICE will “pause” most vehicle stops nationwide after agents fatally shot two immigrants who weren’t even the intended targets. And finally, Mitch McConnell released a statement saying a fall left him briefly unconscious and hospitalized for nearly a month. We unpack the timing, the questions, and the very loud silence around the details.
