    We're opening with our 9th segment highlighting the International Year of the Woman Farmer - putting Connecticut's woman farmers in focus with this year-long series. Today, we'll head up to Litchfield County to talk with a first generation farmer and founder of Howling Flats Farm, a family Angus beef and pork farm in Canaan. Hear about how this local woman farmer found her true passion by sheer coincidence.

    Then, we'll switch gears to talk about manufacturing. Late last month, For the People had the opportunity to attend the 2026 Connecticut Manufacturing Innovation Forum. During that event, we learned about a couple of different programs supporting our state's advanced manufacturing sector and its workforce. So, we'll connect first with the COO of MATCH - the Manufacturing and Technical Community Hub of New Haven.

    Then we'll hear all about the University of New Haven's Elevation Center, a pioneering 133,000-square-foot innovation and applied technology hub designed to connect students with corporate partners, research opportunities, and workforce development.     The Connecticut Project: Focus On SNAP Sep 15, 2026
