Jared Trujillo is my guest on this week’s show. He is a public defender, organizer, and adjunct law professor, and the President of the Association of Legal Aid Attorneys, UAW local 2325. And in what little spare time he has, Jared travels around the State of New York, speaking to lawmakers and community organizations on “decriminalizing queerness” and the impact of over policing and over incarceration on queer and trans communities, with special emphasis on how the laws that criminalize sex work disproportionately impact trans women of color, and queer youth.
