"Boy Wonder": Miami Heat rookie Tyler Herro Joins Five on the Floor Sep 23, 2020

Show notes

There are many reasons the Miami Heat are in the Eastern Conference Finals with a 2-1 lead, but few are more significant than the startling quick and broad development of rookie Tyler Herro.

Herro, still just 20, joins Five on the Floor to discuss his progress on both ends; Bucks series predictions; Big Face Coffee tastings; nickname preferences; conversations with Dwyane Wade; music and restaurant tastes and more.

Oh, and how he feels about the rest of the series with the Celtics.

Are the Boston Celtics the Miami Heat's main rival again? Sep 22, 2020

Show notes

The Boston Celtics seemed like a likable team before this series... to some of us.

Now? Not so much.

Chris Joseph of Ballcast on the Five Reasons Sports Network joins to discuss what makes the Celtics -- and their fans -- so loathsome -- and helps Ethan, Alf and Greg put the Celtics rivalry in context with the others the Heat had, or have.

Bonus: Today's Zoom group media interviews with Heat forwards Jae Crowder and Andre Iguodala.

Disclaimer: More mature language in this episode than usual, and Ethan screwed up his settings so his microphone sounds different. Enjoy!

Bam! Miami Heat block Boston Celtics in Game 1 OT Thriller Sep 16, 2020

Show notes

Jimmy Butler had the big bucket, Tyler Herro had a near triple double, Goran Dragic had the energy throughout (and 29 points), and Bam Adebayo had a block for the ages of Celtics star Jayson Tatum as the Miami Heat won Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals.

Ethan Skolnick, Greg Sylvander and Brady Hawk break it all down. Where does the Bam block rank? What's sustainable in the Marcus Smart vs. Jae Crowder battle? And which of the Heat's supporting players may not be playable going forward?
