Thanks for listening to the First15 Podcast. We are so excited about the recent launch of our new First15 App, which is available now in your app store. One new feature that you can enjoy when you download the app is our Guided Prayers. We are adding prayers on meaningful topics every month, so be on the lookout for them!

“Create in me a Clean Heart,” is our new guided prayer and comes at the perfect time of the Lenten season. As you prepare your heart for Easter, we hope you will use this prayer that our friend, Trace Kennedy, wrote to draw nearer to your Savior. God longs to pour out his grace and mercy to those who come before him with humble and contrite hearts. It’s in forgiveness where we can fully come to understand the depth of our Savior’s love.

Trace Kennedy is the Brand Manager for Foundations with Janet Denison, a division of Denison Ministries that provides digital Bible study to anyone with a desire to study, understand, and apply the truth of Scripture to their daily lives. Having been a student of Janet’s for over twenty years, Trace is now blessed to share in the work of her ministry to help others know and love Jesus.

Today we get to celebrate the amazing gift of Easter Sunday. Eleven words recorded in Matthew 28:6 changed human history: "He is not here, for he has risen, as he said.” The stone that sealed the tomb of Jesus was but a pebble compared to the Rock of Ages. And because of the incredible miracle of the resurrection, we can all live with unshakable joy and hope.

Our Scripture for today comes from Matthew 28:6. Today's worship is I've Witnessed It (feat. Melodie Malone) by Passion.

When you question God’s love for you Apr 06, 2023

In our weeklong journey toward Easter, today is known as Maundy Thursday. This is a significant day in the life of Jesus, and so it’s also a significant day for us as children of God. Yet even as his children, we all have moments where we question whether or not he truly loves us. So today, may we be reminded of the depth of his love and the lengths he went to in order to restore a relationship with us.

Our Scripture for today comes from Romans 5:8, and today's worship is See The Light by Hillsong Worship.

Sitting at the feet of God Apr 05, 2023
    Show notes

As we continue our week of preparing our hearts for Easter, today we’re going to look at how God speaks. We often associate prayer with taking time to talk to God. We may even be consistent in sharing our worries and requests with him. Yet the power of prayer isn’t fully realized until we learn not just to talk, but also to listen. God desires to speak to each of us. He longs to lead us, teach us, and remind us of his great love. And as we spend time in his presence today, I pray that God will speak clearly as we learn to listen to his voice.

Our Scripture for today comes from Luke 11:28, and today's worship is Find Me At The Feet Of Jesus by Christy Nockles.

Are you in love with God? Apr 04, 2023
    Show notes

Loving God can sound so simple. But when we think about what it means to love God with everything we have, we all have to recognize that we fall short. Thankfully, our relationship with God isn’t built on our own faithfulness, but his. So as we continue to journey toward Easter this week, let us reflect on God’s great love for us and the distance he went to demonstrate it through the life and death of Jesus.

Our Scripture for today comes from 1 John 4:19, and today's worship is Falling In Love by Phil Wickham.
