Episode 360 Matt Eversmann is a First Class Father and Retired Army Ranger. Matt served in the Third Battalion, Seventy Fifth Ranger Regiment as a Sergeant during the 1993 Battle Of Mogadishu which was immortalized in the movie “Black Hawk Down”. For his courageous actions during the battle, Matt received several awards including the Bronze Star Medal with Valor. Matt continued to serve long after the Battle of Mogadishu with his final deployment in 2006 to Iraq during the surge. Episode 358 Shawn Stockman is a First Class Father, singer, songwriter and member of Boyz II Men. He has been with the legendary soul and R&B group for 29 years and won multiple Grammy Awards. Episode 357 Matthew Williams is a First Class Father, Green Beret and Medal of Honor Recipient. Matt received the military’s highest award for his courageous actions in Afghanistan during The Battle Shok Valley. The Battle lasted more than seven hours after Matt and his team were ambushed by over 200 enemy insurgents. Matt and his team from the Army’s 3rd Special Forces Group overcame incredible odds and resulted in Matt and teammate Ronald Shurer receiving the Medal of Honor and eight others receiving the Silver Star. Episode 353 Captain Richard Phillips is a First Class Father and retired Merchant Mariner who was kidnapped by Somali pirates during the hijacking of the Maersk Alabama in 2009. He was held hostage in a lifeboat until Navy SEAL snipers from DEVGRU killed all three pirates and rescued him. The event was immortalized in the major motion picture, Captain Phillips, with Tom Hanks playing the role of Phillips.
