Ron Williams-UpChannel- Simplifying Token-Based Transactions In The Emerging Market Mar 06, 2018
    Show notes

Ron Williams is with Spire, a company that has integrated with UpChannel in the development of pre-installed applications on smartphones sold in emerging markets. Spire's ICO is currently underway and will lead to the launch of a digital currency wallet application that will support Bitcoin and the Spire token. The ultimate goal of the app is to simplify the user experience by allowing access to and use of several different tokens through just one: the Spire token. Williams sees the simplification of crypto-based transactions especially important in emerging markets where consumers may be experiencing smartphone and blockchain technology for the first time. Spire will be partnering with several categories of digital apps that will be useful to this market, such as identity, basic financial and basic banking services. While the user will be using the Spire token for transactions, the tokens associated with each digital app will be used behind the scenes. To learn more about Spire's benefits and future plans, visit spireprotocol.com.

Ben Way – Digits – Turning Debit & Credit Cards into Crypto Cards at the Push of a Button Mar 05, 2018
    Show notes

Paying in crypto can be complicated, and that's something Ben Way set out to change when he began Digits, a crypto payment processor that connects any 16-digit debit or credit card number to a crypto wallet, essentially turning that debit or credit card into a crypto card. Digits settled with the Visa and MasterCard networks, meaning that merchants don't have to change a single thing in order for this to work. In fact, they don't even have to know when a customer is paying in cryptocurrency and when they aren't. This has and will continue to allow for a simple integration of the Digits product into the market. Users can download the Digits app in order to turn on or off their credit or debit card in real time, as well as switch between different cryptocurrencies. Digits will support all of the major cryptocurrencies, and will be adding more as new exchanges are brought on. Tune in to learn more about Digits and a clever new technology they are building behind the scenes- one that will turn every transaction into a crypto-backed loan, which will have a valuable impact on consumers.

Michael Alden, CEO Of Blue Vase On Cryptocurrency, Entrepreneurship And Personal Improvement Mar 05, 2018
    Show notes

In 2009, Michael Alden started Blue Vase with the goal of marketing products and services that have a positive impact on people's lives. Since then, Blue Vase has been recognized in SmartCEO magazine, the Boston Business Journal and on Entrepreneur.com. It wasn't until 2014 that the idea of cryptocurrency was first introduced to Alden. "I knew nothing about cryptocurrency…it was so foreign to me that I pushed it away when it was originally introduced to me in 2014. But when I realized what it was…and the application of blockchain and how it can change industries and change lives and save lives and make the world a better place…I am all in." It wasn't until around August of last year that Alden really threw himself into the study of cryptocurrency and blockchain technology. Since then, he has published Crushing Crypto, a book about his journey into the world of crypto that aims to provide the complete beginner with an easy-to-grasp, basic level of information about the benefits and revolutionary aspects of cryptocurrency and the blockchain. Alan Milligan- White Rabbit- Promoting Transactional Transparency, Efficiency and Fairness in an Era of Video Streaming Technology Mar 02, 2018
    Show notes

In recent years, video streaming technology has become increasingly popular on a global scale. The days of VHS tapes and DVDs seem long gone, but they didn't leave without creating some negative consequences. With just a few main subscription services choosing the content that viewers are able to stream legally, many fans- especially those who have niche film interests- have been left with virtually no option but to illegally obtain the content they want to view. Filmmakers, on the other hand, have lost revenue as well as useful information about their fan bases. Alan Milligan is the CEO of White Rabbit, a company that is using blockchain technology to address these problems. This is the gist of how White Rabbit works: once a fan offers tokens in exchange for the viewing rights to a film or series, White Rabbit will contact the rightsholder of that film or series and invite them to enter into a smart contract. If the rightsholder agrees, then they will receive the tokens and metadata from the user. Operating as a plug-in for peer-to-peer streaming sites, White Rabbit allows for automatic transactions to occur when a user chooses and agrees to pay for content from rightsholders who have established a contract with White Rabbit. Occurring on the blockchain, these transactions are transparent, fast, and the revenue gets distributed in the exact way that was agreed upon. "Allowing and sharing revenue with streaming sites that have all the intention of respecting the rightsholder, offering supreme service to the fans…investing in research and development for recommendation algorithms…that's the alternative industry we are trying to help build up with the token," says Milligan. Bradford Siff-Biowave- A Smarter Pain-blocking Technology in the Form of a Handheld Device Mar 01, 2018
    Show notes

Bradford Siff is the founder and president of Biowave, a company that is providing people with an easy-to-use, long-lasting, opioid-free and effective form of pain relief. This new pain-blocking technology delivers electrical signals through the skin and into deep tissues, blocking the transmission of pain signals to the brain. Regular electrical stimulation devices deliver signals that reach only the surface of the skin, rather than the surface of pain nerves. Biowave offers a professional-grade version of the device that's already being used in hospitals, pain clinics and by professional sports teams, and has shown to be effective in treating chronic, acute and post-operative pain. A home prescription device is also available, which is portable and handheld. Thirty minutes of treatment a day can result in 24 hours of pain relief, and it's intuitive to use: just place the electrodes on the site of pain, plug them into the device, power the device on and control the level of intensity of the treatment you receive. Tune in to hear more details about this technology, an informative discussion about the mechanism of pain itself, and a few exciting new products on the horizon for Biowave. To get in contact, call 1-877-Biowave, send an email to info@biowave.com, or visit biowave.com.

Ken DiCross – SocialWallet – Using Social Networks to Bring the World of Crypto to the Masses Feb 28, 2018
    Show notes

For a lot of people, the idea of entering the world of cryptocurrency and blockchain technology seems complicated and intimidating. At the same time, there are over 2.5 billion people from all walks of life who easily navigate a variety of social networks, such as Facebook and Twitter. SocialWallet is bridging the divide between the two in an exciting new way. Here's the gist of how it works: from the SocialWallet platform, a person selects a social media network, chooses the name of the person they want to send tokens to, enters the number of tokens to be sent, and then clicks "send." Unlike other crypto exchange platforms, the recipient doesn't need a pre-downloaded wallet; they simply receive a notification via their social network account, click on the embedded link, and are brought to the SocialWallet platform that automatically provides a wallet for them. SocialWallet has a token sale that's currently in the works and will last through April 27th of this year. Facebook, email and Twitter platforms will be released immediately after the token sale ends, and within the next 12 months, SocialWallet plans to integrate 14 of the top 20 social networks in the world. Yi Ma – NewsDog – Customizing and Tokenizing Users' Consumption of Daily News Feb 27, 2018
    Show notes

With the amount of information that's available online these days, it can be hard for users to find what they're really looking for. NewsDog is an India-based news platform that is utilizing a combination of personalized recommendation and blockchain technology to bring its users a customized experience each time they log on. Using algorithmic technology, NewsDog tracks the types of articles that are shown to its users, and then compares those with the types of articles that the user actually reads. Based on the data gathered, the algorithm recommends customized content that is much more likely to suit the reading preferences of any particular user. Yi Ma, Co-Founder of NewsDog, discusses how the utilization of blockchain technology has promoted fairness, openness and trustworthiness on the NewsDog platform. To give one example, NewsDog's Content Neutrality Network (CNN) allows users to be rewarded in the form of tokens based on the level of their activity on the site. This means that the more comments a user posts and the more articles they read, the greater their share in NewsDog's ad revenues. This is something that is not offered by many other news-delivery platforms. NewsDog has only been online for about two years, but has already attracted over 40 million users in India and has been ranked number one under the Indian news category on Google Play. Show notes

The number of small, early-stage yet fast-growing companies is reaching an all-time high. Despite the potential for wide profit margins, many of these high-quality startups lack the necessary capital to continue growing and to reach their full potential. Sam Kawtharani and Derek Manuge formed Corl from a combined decades' worth of unique and relevant experience to offer a solution: the world's first revenue-sharing token specifically designed to foster the development of emerging companies while benefitting investors. Where traditional forms of finance have failed, Corl promises to deliver by providing royalty investments to budding companies and allowing investors to own equity in Corl via the blockchain-based "CRL" token. In addition, token holders will receive quarterly dividends in Ethereum. With the plan of becoming the world's first regulatory-compliant security token that pays dividends to all token holders, Corl introduces an unprecedented and exciting opportunity for entrepreneurs and investors alike. Currently, in the pre-launch stage of development, Corl will go live in just a little over one month, on April 1, 2018. For over 2,000 companies already signed up on the Corl platform and ready to apply, that launch date couldn't arrive soon enough. To learn more, visit corl.io, join the Corl telegram channel, or contact Sam and Derek directly through LinkedIn.
