    Show notes

Cambridge Quantum Computing (CQC) is a leader in quantum computing with a focus on providing design solutions using quantum information processing. Quantum computers have existed for over 40 years, but few applications have been developed to utilize the incredible power to process information based on the complex laws of quantum mechanics. According to Dr. Mark Jackson, scientific lead of business development with CQC, one way that quantum computing is making an impact is in quantum chemistry. CQC is working with scientists and pharmaceuticals to improve the way drugs are developed by greatly improving the way molecular structures are analyzed. This will lead to less trial and error and more effective drug treatment options. Also, CQC is working on quantum encryption to ensure the highest level of security possible based on quantum resources. New security measures will be necessary, according to Dr. Jackson, as businesses transition to quantum computers from traditional computers.

Chris Garner, Advertising Evangelist with Oyster Apr 20, 2018
    Show notes

Oyster is creating the future of website monetization by building a new protocol for the internet economy and eliminate ads from websites. According to Chris Garner, advertising evangelist with Oyster, website publishers currently rely on advertisements as a primary revenue stream. Oyster is trying to change that. The solution is based on a decentralized data storage platform that uses blockchain technology to provide absolute security. When website visitors access a website, instead of seeing ads, the user will contribute a small portion of their CPU and GPU power to be stored anonymously on a decentralized ledger. Website publishers then get paid directly by the storage users which results in completely ad-free websites. This new economic protocol will allow web publishers forget about advertisements and focus on better content with unbiased opinions. The website users will enjoy ad-free use of websites at a minimal cost as well as added privacy.

Andrew Chang- Paxos and itBit- A Private Blockchain-Based Settlement Platform and a Fully Regulated, Comprehensive Crypto Custody and Exchange Apr 19, 2018
    Show notes

Andrew Chang is the COO of two exciting and promising businesses: itBit and Paxos. Since 2013, itBit has been operating as a cryptocurrency custody service and exchange that is now fully regulated as a New York state trust. As a regulated institution by the New York Department of Financial Services, itBit has the ability to move cash and assets at the same time, which is something that other exchanges are unable to do. Paxos is a soon-to-be-launched private blockchain-based clearing and settlement platform that's designed to address the many concerns surrounding public blockchains and provide companies and banks with an alternative. A private blockchain allows for the addition of customizable assets and greater control in a closed network. On the Paxos platform, assets will be digitized and tokenized, with the confirmation and settlement details of every trade being carried out over the Paxos blockchain. "We are trying to reduce settlement risk and costs as we reduce settlement times to nearly instantaneous. Right now it takes multiple days to clear and settle a transaction, which means there is capital that is trapped for regulatory holding purposes, additional costs associated with manual processes, and people dealing with confirmation mismatches," says Chang. The benefits being offered by both itBit and Paxos are numerous. To learn more, visit itbit.com and paxos.com.
