Are you worried about how you are going to pay for healthcare if you retire before Medicare age? This conundrum has stumped early retirees and entrepreneurs for decades. Part of the problem is that we just plain unclear about how much healthcare coverage will cost. Lynn Frair and Ryan Connell have an answer. They have created a a healthcare calculator to help you estimate your costs. This is the nation's first healthcare cost calculator of it's kind through the lifespan for entrepreneurs and early retirees. And it’s available totally free.

    About our guests:

Lynn Frair is a nurse and healthcare expert and personal finance enthusiast who started investing at age 12. After a brain tumor in her 20s wiped out her savings, she re-built up her investments and retired at age 40. She is covered by major media outlets including the WSJ, and MarketWatch. She is the founder of FI Healthcare, where her mission is empowering individuals in the financial independence community with knowledge to choose the right healthcare option for themselves. She is also the Founder of thefinanciallysavvynurse.com where she works with nurses using knowledge of personal finance to empower them to live a life with more time freedom and in alignment with their values.

Ryan Connell worked for 15 years as a systems engineer identifying the heart of complex problems and leading teams to solve them. He left his engineering career in 2022 to start living more deliberately and find a new path in life thanks to FIRE (Financial Independence/Retire Early)

Why life insurance is the best gift to give this year - Expert Edition Episode 1 Dec 06, 2022
    Show notes

    Send us Fan Mail

“When you rely on GoFundMe accounts to pay for funerals, you're still short selling your family in the long run because GoFundMe will just pay for the funeral. But life insurance pays for the finances well beyond your life. It can pay off your mortgage, cover kids' college, and also keep a spouse from having to go right back to work if they wanna have time to grieve or they wanna take time off from work after the death of a partner.

But it's also important for single people to get life insurance too, because if your parents depend on you for income or you're taking care of siblings or someone else, then they need to know that they're gonna be taken care of. And life insurance is a guaranteed way to do it.”
