You'd be forgiven for thinking it might never have happened, but 2020 is nearly over and we're once again getting together our Game of the Year lists. Unique in the industry, Tommy, Ben and Adam from Filthy Casuals have cleverly invented a way to collate a list of categories in which games that were released during calendar year 2020 can be celebrated and ranked. Further to this, they have come up with an innovative and industry leading way to also celebrate a collection of overall "games of the year", a list of titles which for one reason or another warrant a particular level of recognition. It's the only place you'll find such an event on the internet, and we are proud to have pioneered such a concept. Please join us for part one of our two part special which we came up with and also perfected: The Game of the Year Awards!

The King Of Jacking In, Mr. Keanu Reeves stars in perhaps the most hotly anticipated and most hotly debated game of 2020: The Matrix: Path of Neo. Tommy “T-Pose” Dassalo, Ben “Blue Screen” Vernel and Adam “My Car Is Clipping Through That Other Car Haha That Actually Looks Pretty Funny I Dunno Maybe This Is Cool” Knox are here to share their thoughts on the controversy and the content surrounding Cyberpunk 2077. Are the bugs as severe as people are saying? Is the game behind them any good? Is it possible to cover all of the nuances of the enormous whirlwind of discussion about this game in one episode whilst also recapping the Game Awards? The answers to these questions are contained within the episode, as you could have assumed given the fact the episode is about Cyberpunk 2077. What a way to end such a weird year. You may contact Sony or Microsoft for a refund on this episode.

Open up your favourite podcast app(le) and download the grape new episode of Filthy Casuals, where a pear of the boys have now played Fuser, Tommy has had a (man) go of Bugsnax, Adam is berry angry at Immortals: Fenyx Rising and Ben is a pumpkin or whatever. No other huge game releases this week!

I put it to you that Filthy Casuals is the Breath of the Wild of podcasts. Firstly, it is about video games, and Breath of the Wild is a video game. You cannot fault my argument so far. Secondly, Breath of the Wild is open and free form, and I think we do that as well. Two for two. Thirdly, sometimes we seem to be running incredibly slowly and there are times when we appear to be Nintendo exclusive. Case closed. This week we talk about the new Breath of the Wild sort-of-prequel Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, as well as further thoughts on Demon's Souls, the upcoming Cyberpunk 2077, and plenty more. In summary, I think you'll all agree with me when I quote the immortal words of Link from the hit Legend of Zelda series: "hyaaaaa!"

The big boxes have been delivered and there is now a PS5 in each of Tommy, Ben and Adam's hands, which quite frankly has made it very difficult to play video games. After putting the PS5s down and picking up controllers, the boys have gone in on an array of launch games, including Demon's Souls, COD, Spider-Man, Astro's Playroom, more Assassin's Creed, and even more besides. It is incredible to think that video games have truly been released. What a time to be alive and interested in video games. Congratulations one and all.

This week we’ve got a big burly bearded European warrior, a perky little robot, and also Tommy is on the show! Yes! Another classic Filthy misdirect! Speaking of things not going exactly how you might expect, neither Tommy nor Adam’s PS5s have arrived yet so Ben goes deep on the several hours he’s had with the PlayStation 5. Knox and Ben have played Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and the boys talk Mass Effect Legendary Edition and more news relating to the art form of video games.

Oi oi, what's all this then, an episode of Filthy Casuals, is it? Blimey, that'd go down like a nice cuppa tea right about now, don't mind if I do, my son. Tommy Dassalo's reviewing Pikmin 3 Deluxe? Leave it out! Ben Vernel reviews Ghostrunner? Cor blimey! Adam Knox then joins Ben in reviewing Watch Dogs Legion?? By the power of Queen Elizabeth, I am from Englaaaaand!

We're just two incredibly long and arduous weeks away from new consoles coming out and quite frankly: I am excited. Big resolutions, beautiful graphics, buzzy and buttony controllers, boy oh boy it's a bevvy of bgood bconsoles. We've had a look at hands-on videos that are trickling onto the internet and we have thoughts to share. Would we have liked to get our hands on consoles ourselves? Yes. Have we? No. Are we furious an incensed? Yes, but that was already the case. It's a very exciting time in video games and we're very excited about at whether it takes a couple more weeks than we would have liked to actually get our hands on the things. Speaking of which, we also talk the Cyberpunk 2077 delay, and a whole bunch more. New consoles.
