    Show notes

On the June 3, 2024 episode of /Film Daily, /Film editor Ben Pearson is joined by /Film staff writer and box office analyst Ryan Scott to talk about the biggest box office stories from this past weekend.

    • Slasher Horror Movie In a Violent Nature Had a Bloody Good Box Office Haul
    • The top 10 at the box office

Listener email: Belinda wrote in: “You are probably not old enough to remember, but there used to be second run houses in Chicago. Movies would stay in the theater for maybe a month or more, then go to second run houses where the prices were deeply discounted. Now it seems the studios pull movies just a few weeks before it goes to streaming. But some movies I still want to see on a movie screen. Do you think that something like second run theaters have a chance of returning, especially for people who might have been delayed from seeing the movie in the first 3 or 4 weeks of its release? Could be great for families.
