Nothing can strengthen our attachment relationships more than God’s mercy and grace. The trick is, how can we receive His mercy and grace every day. In this episode, I discuss this question. After reading the book, Filled with His Love, someone very close to me who has been less active in the Church for years, said, “I haven’t read a book in years, but I just finished reading your book, and my favorite chapter was “Live in Mercy and Grace. In fact, I liked that chapter so much, I’m going to read it again.” Hope you enjoy this episode.

I swim almost every day in a nearby pool. In the episode I begin by recounting a conversation I had with a lifeguard I’ve come to know. I ask him how he recognizes God’s hand in his life. Then I reflect on a personal encounter in the temple that showed so powerfully that God watches over his children. I hope this episode can help you see his hand more often in your life.

Singing lullabies at bedtime is a tradition that cuts across most cultures in the world. In this episode, I share a conversation with my granddaughter, Olivia Osguthorpe about the meaning of a lullaby my wife and I wrote. Then she and her father, Rich, sing the lullaby accompanied by Manuel Diego Gonzalez. This is only one type of what we might call “attachment songs”—songs that draw us closer together with each other and with God.

In April General Conference, President Nelson urged us to "end conflict," a simple but far-reaching request. One reason conflict arises--either with ourselves or with others--is because we hold a grudge, feel resentment, or cannot forgive a past wrong. In this episode, I discuss how attachment relationships suffer when we allow even a small amount of vengeance to overtake us, and how important it is to eliminate such feelings so that we can end conflict and grow closer to those we love.
