Feast of Fun: Gay Talk Show

Interviews with amazing people, comedians and LGBTQ+ legends, with pop culture and politics wrapped up in a delicious candy coating of camp.

Hosted by Puerto Rican drag queen Fausto Fernós and his husband, Norwegian reality TV star Marc Felion, Feast of Fun began as one of the original 50 podcasts featured on iTunes in 2006, and celebrated by Apple: Feast of Fun “helped bring podcasting from an underground movement to a mainstream phenomenon.” Five time winner of the People’s Choice Podcast Award for Best LGBT podcast.

We’ve done thousands of shows with wonderfully wild people, LGBTQ legends and their friends, and tackle the tough questions like: is Sasquatch a drag queen? How many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie Roll pop?

Subscribe and join us as we chat with gay musicians, counterculture comedians, trans pirates, lesbian warriors and pagan witches and celebrate the ridiculous and transform pain into pleasure.

FOF #2632 - The Cher Show Musical is a Fun Pop Culture Ride Jul 12, 2018

Show notes

In the early 70s, The Sonny and Cher Comedy Hour was a prime time TV staple. The real life couple Sonny and Cher Bono dressed up in outrageous Bob Mackie designed outfits, performed corny skits and sang medlies with their campy celebrity friends.
But, at the height of their TV success, the couple called it quits, and Cher launched her own musical variety show, the Cher Show. Decades later, The Cher Show is back as a new musical that looks at the pop diva’s amazing career.
Today, Cher enthusiast, Damon L Jacobs joins us to take a look at The Cher Show that’s playing in Chicago before hitting Broadway this fall.

FOF #2631 – Guilty Pleasures Jul 10, 2018

Show notes

A lot of us enjoy some pretty far out stuff that others just don’t seem to get. Sometimes they act like we’ve lost our mind when we fawn over the latest gadget, TV show or comic book. But that’s at the heart of culture: people bonding over rare goodies that others think of as boring, grotesque or stupid.
Today comedians Carma Nibarger and Tim Warner join me to take a look at all the wild things we all love, that we are secretly afraid to tell the world.
Plus — With the reboot of Charmed on its way, a look at how Paganism is portrayed on television.
Note: this show was taped earlier in the month while Marc was away filming Alt For Norge. Sorry for the delay in its release.

FOF #2624 – Miss Understood Looks at the Wild, Juicy, Messy 90s. Jun 07, 2018

Show notes

The early 90s were wild, messy and outrageous times. At the height of the AIDS crisis, after a decade of Reagan and Bush, performance artists, comedians, musicians and drag queens were all busy challenging their audiences by sticking yams up their butts, throwing poop at them, and sucking whipped cream and cherries off their toes.
So why does it seem like people today are more outraged than ever? Is this just a false perception due to social media?
Today New York City drag legend Miss Understood joins us to take a look at the outrageous acts of performance artists and drag queens of the early 90s and how a prom dress caused such a confused controversy over cultural appropriation on the Internet.

➤ Peaches Christ announces a new horror film musical adaptation of her hit show with Jinkx Monsoon “Slay Gardens.”

All this plus Showgirls with monkeys!
