Interviews with amazing people, comedians and LGBTQ+ legends, with pop culture and politics wrapped up in a delicious candy coating of camp.

Hosted by Puerto Rican drag queen Fausto Fernós and his husband, Norwegian reality TV star Marc Felion, Feast of Fun began as one of the original 50 podcasts featured on iTunes in 2006, and celebrated by Apple: Feast of Fun “helped bring podcasting from an underground movement to a mainstream phenomenon.” Five time winner of the People’s Choice Podcast Award for Best LGBT podcast.

We’ve done thousands of shows with wonderfully wild people, LGBTQ legends and their friends, and tackle the tough questions like: is Sasquatch a drag queen? How many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie Roll pop?

Subscribe and join us as we chat with gay musicians, counterculture comedians, trans pirates, lesbian warriors and pagan witches and celebrate the ridiculous and transform pain into pleasure.

FOF #2889 – The Mandela Effect: Did Madonna Ever Meet Elvis? Aug 18, 2020
    Show notes

It’s Madonna’s birthday and it’s also the anniversary of the day Elvis Presley died. But does their connection go deeper than that?
Making the rounds again on the internet is an old archive image of a young woman bearing an uncanny resemblance to the queen of pop, trying to get close to Elvis, the King of Rock and Roll.
The black and white photo taken in 1970 in front of the Olympia Theater is hotly contested as to whether the young woman is or isn’t Madonna. Madame X isn’t speaking about it and perhaps she’s enjoying the mystery of it all and the wild speculation that the photo might be an artifact from a parallel universe.
Today we take a look at the mysterious photo of a young woman trying to meet Elvis. Is this an example of the Mandela effect: the phenomena where large groups of people can recall something that did not happen or remember it very differently from the way it actually occurred.

Youth gay culture is exploding online and in high schools everywhere. Just take a look at our community forums here at Feast of Fools. Youth gay culture, GLBT teens, or whatever words you want to use to use to describe it: teenagers all over the United States are speaking up, talking about their sexual identity with the support of their parents and schools.
You've come a long way, gay baby! Just PLEASE wait until you're old enough to understand the ramifications of your actions before you do "it," and when you do, please PLEASE use a condom.

Freak Show is now a movie on Amazon Prime!
Gay culture folks like us or writer James St. James are thrilled to welcome these fresh faces into the fold and share our stories, experiences and ideas. Today we're delighted to bring legendary NYC nightclub performer (or club-kid) James St. James on the show to talk about his new book "Freak Show," a semi-fictional story about the struggles and triumphs of a fabulous gay teenager living in a conservative Southern town in Florida. I say semi-fictional because in many ways the story is loosely based on his own life experiences growing up gay.
"Freak Show" attempts to create a healthier atmosphere as he tells the story of Billy Bloom and his struggles to fit in at his High School and how he tries to get the class hunk. It may sound like a departure from his better known autobiographical novel "Disco Bloodbath" (later re-named "Party Monster") where he tells the dark and grim story on how NYC nightclub promoter/club-kid Michael Alig killed his drug dealer Angel Melendez.
We're making a special announcement today. The word "reinventing" needs to be dis-invented. We're tired of seeing everyone everywhere "re-invent themselves" when they are really just putting on a new wig and going shopping at H&M. Save the word for when it means something, like "they just re-invented the combustion engine to run on hugs and kisses."
Join Marc Felion and me, Fausto Fernós as we talk to James St. James about his book and his celebrity gossip. Did he really sleep with Macauly Culkin? Listen to today's show and find out.

Does My Voice Sound Gay? Aug 06, 2020
    Show notes

How you talk and the way you sound matters, like, you know? A whole lot. Really!
Our speech patterns, accents and word choices make a strong first impression. It influences the way people think about somebody when they know absolutely nothing about them.
If you spend a lot of time around gay men, black women or drag queens, chances are you’ll greet them with a — hey girl!
Many young male actors coming to Hollywood, some of them gay, some of them not, secretly hire speech coaches to train their voices to sound more sexual orientation neutral, so they can pass better and take on leading man roles.

It’s very common for business people from other countries take speech classes to help them communicate more clearly.
The way we talk has a lot to do with not just where we come from, but who we surround ourselves with. Are you a fraud then if you change the way you speak?
Today we’re joined by speech pathologist and video blogger Jennifer Tarle to take a closer look at the way we talk, and what we can do to speak more clearly to connect better with others.
