Emmanuel, God with Us - Strong Tower Dec 25, 2022

Show notes

It's the most wonderful time of the year. Pastor Jeremy Johnson is here to remind us of the true reason for the season. In Emmanuel, God with Us - Strong Tower, we explore the seemingly serendipitous way in which the Messiah, Jesus Christ was born. Get ready to worship the King for closed doors and new pathways.

The saying when God closes a door, He opens a window is popular for a reason. God often has a way of making a way where there is no way and making a path in unexpected places. It was no different in Jesus' life. When Joseph and Mary were set to give birth to Jesus, there was no place to be found for them. Have you felt like you are before a series of closed doors with nothing but questions? If so, know you are not alone. God used similar circumstances to lead Joseph and Mary to the God-ordained place Jesus was to be born. God is doing the same for you.

In this season, we remember Christ's birth and sacrifice for us. We must cherish worshipping him in every circumstance as He leads us through the unknown. God is shaping something incredible in your life. Join us, as we journey through God's word and a powerful Johnson family testimony that testifies to God's goodness in every season. We can't wait to hear the testimonies that are birthed in the New Year!

Jeremy Johnson - Emanuel, God with Us - Unopened Gifts Dec 18, 2022

Show notes

As Christmas is quickly approaching, the story of Jesus' birth is one we can reflect on. It is one of unexpected events that require faith and trust in the Lord. Discussing the birth of Christ, Pastor Jeremy shares how Joseph and Mary experienced the gift of the savior, which required great surrender to God's plan and sovereignty.

Ever feel like the gifts of God are frightening before they are exciting? Or blessings come in unusual ways? When we look in the Bible, Mary was given the gift of birthing Christ. However, leading up to His birth, she was unsure how it would all play out. Similar to Mary's situation, often the greatest blessings scare us before they bless us. In these times, we must remember that God orchestrates things in our lives in ways that only He can get the credit as He moves miraculously. While we may feel hesitant to receive the gifts of God in their fullness when we don't understand, we can trust that He works everything out for the good.

As we practice confiding in Him, we can remember that our responsibility is not controlling how things will unfold, but rather our response to His ability to work in our lives. Even when we may not see the blessing immediately, we can be sure that He turns things around to bless us. Rather than trusting our immediate emotions, we can rest knowing God's hand is always at work. In this, let us be encouraged that God is faithful to finish what He starts.

Show notes

This week Pastor David talks about the necessary topic of guarding our hearts. With so much information being taken in at once through social media, the news, people and places, it's easy to become consumed by everything around us. However, this week's sermon discusses the importance of understanding that not all things presented to us should be welcomed in.

The Bible says that our "heart determines the course of our life". With this in mind, we must be aware of even the small cracks that we leave open to the enemy. This awareness is important because when we give the enemy an inch, he takes a mile and entices us deeper in our mess than we expect.

But even when we do grant the wrong things access to our heart, freedom is still available! We receive redemption when we take charge over the enemy and by keeping our spiritual awareness up and seeking God to renew our hearts and minds. When we guard our thoughts and seek the Lord for spiritual discernment, He helps us even in times when we may mess up. Listen to this week's sermon as Pastor David discusses how God helps us steward our lives for Him by transforming our thinking and guarding our hearts for His glory.

Glen Berteau - Treasure - Seed Time & Harvest Oct 23, 2022

Show notes

In life there are many areas that are constantly being fed into. When we feed an area of our life, it eventually grows. This week's sermon hits on one of the most common and powerful principles in the spiritual realm: you reap what you sow.

If we take a look at our lives we can see that the spiritual law of seed time and harvest is evident in every aspect. While everything begins as a seed of small beginnings, over time we receive the reward of its fullness as we tend to it and care for it. However, whatever we don't pour into, we cannot expect a harvest from as it has not been fed. In the same way, we must feed and seed our dreams and relationship with God. When we place them into God's hands we will see that He can do so much more than our human hands can and expands our harvest.

May we continue to sow Christ in ourselves and situations to see the ripe harvest He has for us. While our feeding of the spirit may seem small and insignificant in the beginning, we must continue pressing in to God's presence. At the right time we will see the heavenly multiplication of our sowing for the Kingdom.
