This episode opens with an admission from Parrish, and then an unexpected digression from he and Norlander about more past experiences and memories from the NCAA Tournament. It's 30 minutes of distraction we think you'll like, and then the guys get to Norlander's deep dive into the biggest concerns and problems facing college basketball/college sports (31:00) right now. We don't have answers, but things could get really problematic later this year. Be sure to read Norlander's story at CBSSports.com or on the CBS Sports app as well. This mid-week pod wraps with a listener mailbag (57:20) that touches on the coaching carousel, job security and, well, just listen.

03/24: Coronavirus ain't stopping us: Here are the top 25 (and one) teams in college basketball heading into next season Mar 25, 2020
    Show notes

Did ya miss us? Don’t worry, we’ve got another beefed-up pod to help you get through your days as we all continue to adjust to life in this historic time. This ep opens with some anecdotal personal touches from Gary Parrish and Matt Norlander, then a few quick headlines on what’s going on in the sport (11:30) before a complete dissection of Parrish’s first offseason edition of the Top 25 + 1 (15:50). Who’s in the top 10? Norlander makes his guesses and gets eight out of 10 correct. After that, the guys take a walk down memory lane and share some of their favorite memories from past NCAA Tournament (46:00), including games they covered, or what they remember about watching from home or, in GP’s case, strangely not remembering weeklong stretches of his life.

03/19: Kansas should not be recognized in any way as the 2020 national champion; this isn't college football Mar 19, 2020
    Show notes

Yes, we're dreaming of what could be, just like you. This was supposed to be one of the best days of the year: the start of the first round of the tournament. The noon tips, dinnertime buzz and late-night almost- or sure-fire upsets. Alas. But the Eye on Pod is here for you. This episode opens with some quarantine updates -- and tourney thoughts -- before getting to the matter of why Kansas can't and won't be labeled as the 2020 champs (13:35). Gary Parrish and Matt Norlander also float back into the Luka Garza vs. Obi Toppin NPOY discussion, with some Trivia Time! thrown in. There's also a mailbag (34:50) to get to, which includes Norlander explaining why he'd love to see. nothing but old tournament games on TV as often as possible this weekend -- and next.

03/16: Amid coronavirus situation, NCAA says no bracket is coming; we reveal our All-Americans, Player, Freshman and Coach of the Year Mar 17, 2020
    Show notes

We hope you’re holding up well, and safely, amid the ongoing coronavirus crisis. This podcast isn’t going anywhere. This ep opens with some general chatter from Parrish and Norlander about what home life has been like since the NCAA Tournament was canceled, and then they get to some college hoops chatter. After leaving a slight crack of the door open for building and revealing an official 2020 NCAA Tournament bracket (18:10), the NCAA announced on what was supposed to be Selection Sunday that there would definitively not be one. The guys weigh the pros and cons and share whether they agree with the call. Then, there are awards to announce. First: Player, Freshman and Coach of the Year (38:00). This is your moment, Dayton. Then, the 15 players selected to CBS Sports’ three All-America teams (49:00). We encourage you to listen to the podcast in the safety of your car, residence or, if you’re out, amid some undeniable social distancing.

03/12: March 12, 2020 will forever be remembered as the day the NCAA Tournament died Mar 13, 2020
    Show notes

Thursday, March 12, 2020. A day that will live in college sports infamy due to the necessary/unprecedented action of canceling not only the Divions I men’s basketball tournament, but all NCAA-sanctioned events for the remainder of the academic year. Sports as we know it are on hiatus for at least a month. It is an odd time. There is so much to discuss. And suddenly this is the season-ending episode of the Eye on pod. Gary Parrish and Matt Norlander spend the first 80% of this episode discussing the dozens of takeaways from what’s happened in college basketball in the past 48 hours, but also giving shoutout after shoutout to so many of the great stories, players and angles to this season — and how they were all vaporized on Thursday. The final part of the podcast we will keep a surprise. For those who wish there were games, still brackets to fill out, still March to get mad over, we think you’ll enjoy a little fun and alternate-universe exploring.
