    Sal spends Father’s Day getting sunburnt and Dave warns everyone coming to LA that the sun is very hot.

    The guys recap a surprising final four teams left in the NBA playoffs and an incredible weekend of games as Kevin Durant nearly carried the Nets to victory. Sal couldn’t enjoy the Nets losing because he had so many futures bets on them and Dave compares the super team Nets to Krispy Kreme Doughnuts. Plus, Suns/Clippers Game 1 and the Sixers struggle to win as Doc Rivers loses another Game 7 and Ben Simmons may be done in Philadelphia (06:15).

    Sal and Dave give their Crown Royal King of the Court awards (26:15) and then discuss Jon Rahm’s US Open win and how a fan was able to somehow run on the course with a golf club and take a couple shots (29:00).

    Jimmy Kimmel joins the show to discuss the first ever Jimmy Kimmel LA Bowl and the Father’s Day Card he got from his daughter. Sal brings up the possibility of a UNLV/Arizona State game, the two universities Jimmy attended, plus how the game came about.     KD Carries Nets, NBA Injuries Continue, Lebron Swaps Numbers, US Open, Sports Fathers & Sons Jun 16, 2021

    Cousin Sal and Dave react to a big morning of NBA news; Kawhi Leonard is out indefinitely, Chris Paul enters Covid protocols and Kevin Durant’s huge night helps save the Nets in game 5. Dave thinks the Milwaukee Bucks are fraudulent and compares Giannis failing to when Bane broke Batman’s back (02:00).

    Dave’s betting slump is over and everything is once again coming up Dameshek, plus the guys weigh-in on Lebron changing his number from 23 back to 6 (16:30).

    It’s a US Open preview; Sal is disappointed Bryson DeChambeau didn’t want to be paired with Brooks Koepka and it would be good for the sport. Dave thinks Aaron Rodgers will continue to make wisecracks at the Packers all season long and need to trade Jordan Love (22:15).

    Mayweather/Paul, NBA Playoffs, Julio Jones to the Titans, and Sal’s Road Trip to See deGrom Jun 07, 2021
    Show notes

    Cousin Sal took the family to San Diego this weekend to see the Mets and Jacob deGrom pitch as he lowered his ERA even further to 0.62. Dave recaps his weekend of going to the beach and trying to cleanse himself (02:00).

    Sal didn’t watch the Floyd Mayweather/Logan Paul fight and thinks the whole thing is bad for boxing. Dave argues there should be even more fan interaction in sports (08:00).

    The guys discuss the NBA playoffs as James Harden is out for Game 2, Brooklyn (1-5.)/Milwaukee and potentially the series, Dave thinks that injuries are really hurting this year’s playoffs. The Clippers win Game 7 against the Mavericks and Dave likes them to continue against the Jazz. Sal gives his picks for Monday night with a Suns/Deandre Ayton parlay (16:30).

    Dave explains his process for coming up with the winners for the Sheky Awards as he gave buttermilk donut of the year; Sal questions how he does it. Then, the Titans traded for Julio Jones but Dave doesn’t think this makes them a Super Bowl contender and Sal thinks the Titans miss the playoffs completely. Dave thinks the AFC is loaded and the Patriots could potentially bounce back (36:00).

    The guys give their Crown Royal, King of the Court awards- as Sal pays tribute to the Atlanta Hawks and Dave gives Luka his due. They discuss John Rahm being forced to withdraw at the Memorial golf tournament because of a positive Covid test and the gambling implications. Would the PGA have done the same with Phil (50:00)?

    Penguins Face Elimination, Rodgers/Woodley Hawaii Vacation, Cowboys bring back #9, Koepka/DeChambeau Staredown May 26, 2021

    Sal can hardly start the show because Dave is all fired up for Game 6 of the Penguins/Islanders series as Sidney Crosby and the Pens face elimination and/or because Aaron Rodgers is in Hawaii with Shailene Woodley and Miles Teller? Last night, Cousin Sal was a rollercoaster of emotions as he had multiple bets to keep track of during the Lakers/Suns games (02:00).

    The guys recap Tuesday night’s NBA games as the Nets look unstoppable if Joe Harris is dropping 25 points a game, the Lakers bounce back and even the series as Chris Paul’s injury could swing the series and the Clippers go down 0-2 as Luka continues to dominate (04:00).

    Then Cousin Sal and Dave preview tonight’s games as the Knicks (-2) try to even their series with the Hawks and Mayor Bill de Blasio calls out Trae Young. Sal and Dave think that mayor’s should have real stakes bets instead of just local food wagers. Sal likes the Wizards (+8.5)/Sixers and Dave gives an impassioned speech to the Pittsburgh Penguins (-1.5) and takes them to win and force a Game 7. Plus, Dave doesn’t like the pick of Wayne Gretzky to join the TNT broadcast team (14:30).

    Sal has conflicted emotions as the Cowboys give Tony Romo’s number 9 to Jaylon Smith and the guys to discuss why divisions should matter to Aaaron Rodgers and Julio Jones as they think about leaving their current teams (34:15).

    Sal can’t get enough of the clip of Brooks Koepka staring down Bryson DeChambeau and says we need more rivalries in golf. Tom Brady and Phil Mickelson will take on Aaron Rodgers and Bryson DeChambeau in the match, but Dave would like to see Cousin Sal versus Rachel Bonnetta. Finally, Dave plays a game of NHL player or prescription drug (54:15).

    Jalen Rose, Phil Mickelson and the Old Man Resurgence in Sports, NBA Playoffs, Dave Goes to Aquarium to See the Penguins Instead of Watching the Penguins May 24, 2021

    Over the weekend, Sal’s son’s team lost in the Little League semi-finals, but he still may go to the finals anyway. Phil Mickelson won the PGA Championship, which brings up the question- is this the year of the old guy (01:45)?

    Dave goes to the Aquarium and misses the Penguins game to see actual penguins, the guys don’t understand how he could do this (05:30). Then Sal and Dave discuss all the upsets in the Western Conference round 1, game 1, playoff games and who could be in the most trouble. Sal likes the play-in round but thought it took a toll on both the Warriors and Lakers in their next games. Then they discuss the Eastern Conference and the Knicks return to the playoffs and Trae Young silencing the crowd. Dave still likes the Nets and Lakers to meet in the NBA Finals (15:45).

    Then they go back to discussing the NHL Playoffs and the difference between the regular season; Dave doesn’t think it’s good for the game if star driven teams don’t advance (29:30). Sal and Dave give out their Crown Royal: Crown on the Court Winners from the weekend (40:30).

    Then Jalen Rose joins the show to discuss sports debate television and how it’s evolved and changed the landscape since he first started. Jalen talks about silencing a crowd on the road, why the play-in tournament is great for the NBA as well as a new mid-season tournament (41:15).

    Jalen talks about his recent interview with Chris Webber, what it meant to him and how it may lead to a bigger conversation, plus could the Fab Five been a NBA playoff team and how Bill Simmons influenced his career and the podcast game (57:45).

    Penguins Tie Series, Steph versus Lebron, Mike Davis’ Legs, and Remembering Charles Grodin May 19, 2021

    Cousin Sal and Dave react to another no-hitter being thrown in baseball as the Detroit Tigers’ Spencer Turnbull gets the fifth one of the season. After a wild ending, the Pittsburgh Penguins tie their series with the New York Islanders 1-1 and Dave calls Bryan Rust catching and throwing the puck an all-time sports blunder. Sal and Dave place a pizza versus Pirmanti Brothers on who wins the series (02:00).

    The first night of the NBA play-in round games were disappointing and Sal thinks it should be single elimination; then he has a better idea inspired by his old law professor, Professor Hunt. Who would you take in a one on one matchup if your life depended on it – Lebron or Steph? Plus, the guys make their bets on Lakers/Warriors (14:45).

    Reactions to running back Mike Davis’s massive legs and the actor who played The Mountain on Game of Thrones lost weight and is now a boxer. Sal thinks he should fight Jake Paul (29:30).

    Dave tries to convince Sal to do Olympic bobsled and finally Sal tries to pay tribute to the late Charles Grodin (42:30).
